he's a Chinese expat who used to work for the nefarious Du Yuesheng. He was captured by the communists and brought back to russia, where he escaped with the help of his long lost great grandmother, the baba yaga. He then began his training as a bender of reality. He grew weary of the complications of the surreal realms and its politics, so he quietly went to live a normal life in new york. The magic deformed him and he couldn't find steady work as an immigrant, but through years of hard work he eventually found stabiility as a pencil pusher for a construction conglomerate... and an inside man for the mafia.

It's been years, and he's settled with a beautiful wife, but the echoes of his magic past beckon, begging for him to initiate the third impact and destroy his soul. Meanwhile, the mafia has been harassing him over old blood money, terrorizing his wife. He's found some time selling cocaine with a young magic acolyte, but it's not much. The cancer is taking its toll on his body.

Pushed to his limit, gremblo begins to seek the forbidden white lodge, hoping for salvation... Instead, he finds Frank, and Frank finds his wife.

Things haven't been the same since that fateful seance. All hope seems lost. Pushed to his limit, Gremblo knows he has but a few hours left before they come, so he pulls the deepest magic. He draws the sigils and uploads it. He can hear his front door get broken into, he hears a gunshot. The corners of the room darken. The images upload beyond space and time. The door behind him opens, light envelops him, he feels the pain in his chest.

Gremblo wakes up next to his sleeping wife. It worked. The memes will keep them alive for who knows how long... but every day, the fabric wavers, the details change... Gremblo is losing himself. But Margie is safe, in a way, in a place. Deep down, she can feel something terribly wrong, every day, she gets a little more scared, and gremblo more distant.
Immortality is its own kind of death.
