Last night, we got another terrible episode of "Leslie the Lesbian and Becky the Babygay!".

I'm starting to forget what major plot we were even waiting for a conclusion to at this point, but even if/when it is eventually addressed, I'm sure Willis will find a way to make it extremely disappointing.
>>
>>93351423
Whole lot of words not about Amber hard-murdering a guy with a knife.
>>

So when do baby gays go into their cocoon stage?

Seems like she would get along just fine with ol' Robin "Twizzlers for breakfast" DeSanto.

Also, I guess Leslie is another picky eater. There's a lot of those in this comic.
>>
>>93351805
If you think Willis doesn't have the same hangups about food, I envy you. He probably lives on carbs and candy.
>>
>>93351805
>I guess Leslie is another picky eater. There's a lot of those in this comic.
You realize of course that Willis is so far down the sperglord tweaker hole that he probably doesn't even realize there's such a thing as a healthy attitude to food or what it looks like? He probably thinks everyone has these hangups and they're just different ones from person to person.

This is just the kind of shit you get as a matter of course when a severely damaged, impaired person writes a story.
>>
>>93351945
I'm surprised he doesn't even fucking like fruit though.
I'm a fat fuck but I love fruit, it's nature's candy.
Whenever I read about Willis's actual circumstances, it makes me incredibly sad. He really shouldn't be making this comic- it only gives him an excuse to obsess on his bitter obsessions and reaffirm every deeply unhealthy choice in his life. I want someone to help the poor schmuck.

It actually makes me envision a Robin that is shifted away from the processed food sugar fiend of the other universe. She'd be great at cooking/baking and the only reason she made such weird stuff (twizzler breakfast, weird muffins) for Leslie is because all she had stocked is candy and easy-to-prepare meals. But there's enough other bits of her being the same kind of womanchild as before that I'm sure that's not the actual case.

>>93351945
Yeah, I've gathered between original Walky and recent Joyce, Walky and Dina that it's not far from him.

I reeealy hate to go Devil's Advocate on Willy's shit, but here we go...

I've been at the point where I said "fuck fruit" because it costs a lot more than other foods, it usually doesn't sate your appetite, and it doesn't keep for very long if I forget to eat it. That's a reasonable stance towards the stuff for a poor 20-something to have, in my experience.

I get that Willis should know better, having kids and everything, but he's writing 20-somethings who don't have kids. It's not unreasonable for him to write them not wanting to spend money on fucking fruit.

It also doesn't mean he doesn't buy his own kids fruit. Hell...with the money he makes on Patreon, I bet those kids eat the most succulent grapes and strawberries the world produces.
>>

Tonight, we have Joe being a fucking white male, and Joyce being the best at being nothing but a constant victim.

How far the original cast has fallen.
>>
>>93352831
I remember when these two were actually making some progress in getting to legitimately understand one another.

There goes that, I guess.
>>
>>93352831
This response seems completely out of character for Joyce.
>>
>>93352831
Well, I fucking called it that Joyce would see the List. Now for Joe to say that despite the low number, he respects Joyce as a frie-- Oh, he says "Better hit that". Never mind; I guess Joe's being written as a pervert regardless of everything. On the other hand, maybe we'll actually get a third strip in which Danny and Joyce talk to each other directly soon.

Did you know: Approximately fifteen days ago in real-world time, Amber stabbed a guy on those very dorm steps. For all we know, Danny and Joe are walking in dried pools of blood.
>>
>>93352831
>better hit that
i thought joe already decided hed never have sex with joyce

>>93352831

>Ryan gets removed from strip

It's almost... something? The strip is ignoring that stuff so hard that I didn't even think about it.

Also, I thought Joe didn't want to fuck her anymore. Why didn't he update her notes?

Also, also, Joyce straddling a wall is alright.
>>
>>93352831

I'll dig through to see if Joe has anything to say, but:

>>93352984
I was gonna suggest it was an art error, but you're right. The wrist brace is gone.

It would be more symbolic if Joyce had an actual role in anything that happened to her. She's been delegated to being no more than a victim, plain and simple.
>>
>>93352929
>Never mind; I guess Joe's being written as a pervert regardless of everything.

It took Joe like 7 years to develop Joyce-lust in the Walkyverse, where everything was universally better.
>>
>>93352929
>Now for Joe to say that despite the low number, he respects Joyce as a frie
He doesn't really respect her as a friend, though. He wanted to bang her, it went super south, he then decided to avoid her (kinda, there was a lot of being in her vicinity with some teasing about how much of a crazy b she is).

She's the one who initiated contact with him about "recognizing his anger" and confided in him over freaking out at home. He just kinda went a long with it because she needed someone to talk to. After she came back to school he basically had to be forced to say hi to her. He even told Jacob as much that he explicitly thinks she's a weirdo.

(And Joe definitely isn't the type to lie to her, especially just to keep her friendship)

I'm not saying it's good, but their relationship is presented pretty clearly.

>>93353059
I was too busy complaining about Joyce's lower body to notice at that point.
>>
>>93352903
Whether or not it's in character will depend on what happens in the next strip; Joyce's response to the do-list should be rooted in Christian morality.

>>93352831
I want to see how Joe ranks Dina, Becky, Ruth, and Carla.
>>
>>93353012
>Why is he getting dragged?
Girls found out about his To-Do List, and they're confronting him about their numbers.

He's freaking out (despite openly giving out the password to the list) and asking Danny to drag him to safety like he used to.
>>
>>93352831
Did someone IM every woman on Joe's list with their ranking and description? Including collecting all the contact information, that seems like a phenomenal amount of work.
>>
>>93351423
>Becky's left eye is higher then her left
Can Willis give Becky Sunglasses please? I'm tired of her eyes bouncing everywhere.
>>
Okay.

Okay.
I got OFF of methDoA, I got CLEAN, and for some reason I've now just read the last 3-4 weeks' worth of strips. Will someone for Christ's sake explain to me how Willis still hasn't put a bullet in his head?

And also, if against all odds something actually happened in the comic, summarize that as well.
>>
>>93353335
My guess is that the password and link were plastered everywhere on campus.
>>
>>93353059
Well, I can't find the specific strip I'm looking for, which featured Joyce explicitly ranked as "Zero-Minus". Was it a Patron bonus?

>>93353199
Well, we're seven years deep into the Dumbiverse, though it's technically only been two months or so.

>>93353206
>I'm not saying it's good, but their relationship is presented pretty clearly.

With Willis' pacing, I don't think you can say that with a straight face. Plus, there's the time when Joyce went back home for a weekend where she was texting him, and he wasn't talking about sex stuff at all.

>>93353212
>I want to see how Joe ranks Dina, Becky, Ruth, and Carla.
You never will.
But you WILL see how he ranks Mary, and it'll be hilarious as it will drag down Mary's reputation.

>>93353358
He's got too much money and Internet clout to do that now. You'd have to find some actual dirt on him, like scamming people on Kickstarter or trading drugs for sex with his wife.
>>
>>93353212

>Plus, there's the time when Joyce went back home for a weekend where she was texting him, and he wasn't talking about sex stuff at all.

Yeah, and normally you'd think that would lead to a budding friendship, he'd show concern over if she made it through the weekend alright. Ask her if she has anyone else to talk to. But instead, pic related was their in person interaction after she came back.

It was extremely weird and incongruous, without any depiction since of whether he would be fine helping her going ahead or if he wants it to stop. They mostly just text back and forth angrily. But that's how Willis is writing him, supportive in a rough spot and then pretending she doesn't exist otherwise.

>With Willis' pacing, I don't think you can say that with a straight face.

>>
>>93357863
Y'know, that's actually a good topic of discussion: What does "Dumbing of Age" actually mean? I mean, sure, it's obviously a play on "coming of age", and being set in a college environment it would make sense that this is a comic in which characters would come of age and learn or experience harsh truths about the world around them while also finding solace in others who share the same conundrums and obstacles.

But why "dumbing"? Is Willis implying that a person becoming of age is a dumb concept? Is Willis just making a childish pun? The answers are infinite and likely meaningless. I leave the ball in your court.

Also, I need reaction images for the next porn comic. Hit me with your best thot.
>>
>>93356181
Look you might say it's a "new low" or "lazy" or whatever but just you wait until we get the big addiction storyline covering Riley's addiction to Smacks in a very clever opioid epidemic metaphor.

I'm joking of course. The opioid epidemic largely effects white people so there's no virtue signalling ally points to be gained from touching on it.
>>
>>93359301

Expecting or seeking higher meaning from beings as banal and shallow as Willis is a pointless endeavor.

Might as well examine the complexities behind "Batman peens Superman: Dawn of Buttstuff".
>>
Also, I realized in the shower that this storyline with Joe has a 90% chance of leading into some kind of deep introspective look into Joe's past wherein it turns out that his father was a womanizer who would sleep around while neglecting Joe, so Joe would imitate his father in the hopes of being noticed and recognized and respected and fuck all.

Unless, of course, this was all already established in the comic, in which case we're going to either get something completely different or we're going to get a rehash that doubles if not triples down on the whole "bad parenting" angle.
>>
>>93359747
It's established that Joe and Joe's dad are similar in behavior and that Joe's parents are divorced because his dad is a womanizer. We don't know if he's a bad parent, just a bad husband - a fact Joe recognizes.

>>93359304
>that story arc where Smacks are banned and Riley has turn to smuggled Mexican cereal to get her fix

Joyce's eyebrows are only horizontal. It isn't a too big of a blow on their relationship

You know, this really makes me reflect. If a man this tarded up and cringey, a man who either has undiagnosed epilepsy and doesn't seem to realize he needs a doctor, or actually gets self-evacuating seizures from the pure stress of existing, can be married and wealthy... what must the average robot be like?

I mean, I get that Willis did marry out of desperation and that his marriage is in essence a sham where she spends his money and fucks others, but still.

Joyce straddling that wall seems a bit lewd.

Also, as much of the idea of having a "to-do" list that's also online and available to the public, this particular description seems almost uncharacteristically pigheadish, even for Joe. I mean I get that the point he's driving home is that Joe's a jerk but we've seen him be genuine quite a few times and I feel like Willis is almost retroactively trying to say
"Nope Joe's actually a super jerk who only thinks with his penis"

Wouldn't it have been naratively better if Joe having given up on Joyce was shown by him more or less abandoning her description on his list and them growing closer together. But unfortunately we see in that bonus strip that he still references the list to remember who she is.

That way when Joyce discovers his old profile on her when she was just "a conquest" Joe would actually feel some sort of conflict of his past actions coming to haunt him and affect his current and future relationships.

And not just his relationships with girls he wants to fuck, but girls he actually likes being friends with.

Granted MOST people won't see that bonus strip so I guess most people won't get the implications of that.

Bruh. Stop doing this to yourself. You KNOW the answer to this question, just like the rest of us. Willis ALWAYS makes the worst possible narrative choice. Always. Look at every strip featuring Carla, FFS.
>>
>>93362629
The most telling thing is that Willis has so far avoided showing women who already know about his do-list, Dorothy, Roz, Raidah, and literally everyone in Leslie's class. Dorothy is especially remiss, as she's been more or less friends with Joe for years.

The bonus strip can easily be explained away as Joe reminding himself that he doesn't want to sleep with Joyce and allowing him a more earnest and honest response to her issues than what he'd give if he was trying to sleep with her. Though within context Joyce's entry doesn't make much sense, as the reason why he doesn't want to sleep with her is because she's a fundie psycho who hired a chaperone for a dinner date and beat the shit out of him in a restaurant. The current strip implies that she was a zero-minus before their date.

>>93362777
It's decent enough setup for something designed to be humorous on a concept level, but that alone won't carry a story.

Well. That's what self defense class teaches you. Our default state is 50% chance of fighting , or 50% chance of running, and if you chose running and can't run, such as kidnap or military force killing your neighbors one by one, you naturally accept your death with feeling of powerlessness. The training is meant to ingraine in your head a different approach to the situation so that you at least try to lessen the odds of death with every ounce of your being which includes assessing the situation and taking the necessary actions.
>>
>>93354435
Why would Leslie encircle her boobs in front of the class?
>>
>>93363288
He makes a ton of patreon books alone, his Kickstarters are halfway scams (this is customary among the SJW webcomic artists, notably Dresden Codak) so he rakes in even more there, and on top of that he sells merch. And occasionally he does commissioned work for Transformers sites and shit like that, but I don't think that makes for a noticeable part of his income.

On top of this, as discussed above (and going by his wasted, doughy appearance) he probably eats nothing but mac-and-cheese and Froot Loops; he likely only wears very cheap clothing as well. So in conclusion, despite his obsessive toy habit and leech wife, he probably puts away a good chunk every month as well.

I still don't understand why Joe basically always reacts to Joyce with "hey don't punch me in the face like you did that one time," but had to look up her fuckabilitiy on his list.

Also I think it's worth noting that despite how messy and public Joe is being, and his notes being weirdly out of date and anachronistic in knowing that Sarah is angry but not knowing that she's Joyce's roommate, I can totally get why he'd not want to be with Joyce. Especially early comic preachy annoying punchy Joyce. She's a little more chill now maybe? I'm not entirely sure where her characterisation is at..

Leslie spent her entire childhood deeply closeted to the point of marrying a guy, then was homeless, and spent years in college to get a doctorate. She doesn't really define herself outside "cool Gender Studies professor who is hip with the kids." In many ways she's much like Becky though not obnoxious about it. So we get things that would indicate she still has something of an immature personality, shitty diet and pop culture focus, that under a better writer would make for an interesting character. Her and Becky being roommates should be an interesting dynamic, as Leslie is basically trying to make sure Becky turns out better than she did while Becky's presence forces Leslie to realize that she's not exactly the put-together adult she presents herself to be.
>>
>>93369104
That's far too deep and developmental. It'll be wacky hijinks in which Becky accidentally re-hooks up Leslie and Robin, and Leslie is happy for it. Robin fails to mention how she was informed that Ryan was murdered.

She is one of the more reasonable characters. The issue is that she was saddled with an extremely long-running subplot of being massively infatuated with Robin. While a reasonably chuckle-worthy recurring gag for a side character and not a bad place to mine some drama (lesbian gender studies professor infatuated with a possibly closeted conservative politician) it became insufferable when Willis focused on it. You got Leslie ignoring her convictions and signing up with Roz, who was not only explicit about her desire to destroy Robin but open about using Leslie to do so, all so she could chase a woman she me once who actively opposed everything Leslie stood for.
>>
>>93372388
>i've asked this before and no one has ever answered me but why does Willis love Hot Shot so much?

FUCKING
PHONE

He remembers her old rating, which was different before. Surely if he remembers the old rating, and bothers with the whole texting thing at all, then he also remembers her well enough.

He wasn't looking up her rating on his list. He was indeed considering changing it, as several people suggested in this thread; it was just made to look like he was only looking her up.

She was a 10. That's why he dated her first. That's why he changed her to a 0- when it worked out so badly, and that's why he's defensive about it now, both in the final panel and in panel 2, and back in the bonus strip when he said "but only because I don't care about you at all."

I can't fucking believe it! This motherfucker actually does know how to write! He just chooses not to, or is so obsessed with having a massive comic buffer that he churns out the comics too fast so a bunch of them look half-baked with crap writing. I think this is the first time Joyce has admitted to hurting Joe. She's copped to the punching but there was always the idea that he deserved it or it didn't have any impact. But she seems to be equating the tanking of her sexiness number as proof that she did mess with him enough for him to not want to interact with her.

I'm wondering what Joyce will end up at, seeing as she clearly surprised him with her attractiveness at the date. Maybe like 8 to 10 to 0-? Or did she also achieve that vaunted 11 for those few moments before she brought Mike into the mix.

I think it has to do with the comic having a bajillion characters, and being slow-paced despite a well-kept seven-days-a-week update schedule because of all the slice-of-life stuff the comic tries to have instead of trimming the fat and focusing more on its bigger plots; readers expect a gag-a-day comic that also simultaneously has a big dramatic story. It makes it seem like it's just meandering along, whether it's dealing with mundane subplots or its most dramatic plot arcs.

Honestly the comic's quality would go up IMMENSELY by just cutting out two-thirds of the characters. A comic that features all the characters from all of Willis' previous comics is just too much when each of those comics already had generously large casts. By removing all the unnecessary, uninteresting, and unlikeable ones, the comic could even keep all the slice-of-life and gag-a-day stuff it already had without fucking up its pacing so bad.

This strip basically confirms that he thinks she's a 10 physically who is held back by her other aspects. Here it's prudishness/lack of experience.

It's kinda similar to the It's Walky arc, if you think about it. When he just thought of her as an annoying husband chaser she wasn't really on his radar, but once he started enjoying her personality, he became completely infatuated with her.

Less characters would help overall, I agree, but the specific issue here is that Willis has just completely dropped an extremely dramatic arc right before its conclusion in order to focus on a new (relatively) pedantic arc. For over two weeks no less. I just don't know how he could possibly make the conclusion worth the wait at this point.
