With most superheroes I tend to like their more obscure villains than their main enemy. Completely indifferent to the Green Goblin, always waiting for Venom to show up. The joker I like but I think the Red Hood and Ra's al Ghul have more thematic potential.
What are your favorite archenemies? In what cases do you think the primary villain is the best? For me they are Lex Luthor and Magneto

Thawne
Magento
Black Manta
He just really, really, really, REALLY hates Aquaman, and I admire that. Hes like The Monarch, only with a bigger murder boner
>>93343339
Why does Thawne hate Barry so much?
>>93343402
he used to idolize the Flash then learned the Flash kills him and he snapped turning him into the Reverse Flash in a bid for revenge and tormenteventually making the Flash kill him
>>93343366
Anyone have those pages where he kills everyone when he sees Aquaman on TV?
>>93343316
I like Lex the best because he is the best of human intellect dedicated to the worst human emotions
>>93343316
>Completely indifferent to the Green Goblin, always waiting for Venom to show up
I feel the opposite way.

Yeah, I fucking love Green Goblin.
>>93343519
Thanks, man.

Superman is epitome of power in the literal sense. Sure some people are faster than him, some are stronger, some can project more damage, but he has great stats in every category like almost no other heroes have.
Lex is the epitome of power in the abstract sense. Intellect, wealth, connections, influence, and the ruthlessness to use them.
So this is just a favorite villains thread? If so, Hobogoblin needs some love just for having a weird story in and out of the comic world.
>>93343667
>>93343671
Favorite arch enemies thread. Favorite of the characters considered to be the primary adversary to their hero
>>93343667
Penguin doesn't qualify as one
>>93343316
I like Captain's Britain arch-enemies Jim Jaspers and The Fury for having only a brief appearence but an lasting effect on him.
>>93343671
Out of the comic world?
>>93343625
Yet Superman embodies the great human traits, love, respect, hope
And Lex embodies the worst human traits, jealousy, pettiness, wrath
Comic books are fun, are they not anon
>>93343803
Have that comic book next to me now, absolutely love ti
>>93343316
Lex Luthor
Mad scientist version though. Like in All Star Superman or the old school comics. Best super villain ever by far.
>>93343883
My ideal Lex Luthor is a combination of all the characterizations of him.
He should be a scientist but not a mad one. Should be a businessman but more focused on empire and prestige than money in and of itself. Also should have a quasi-humanist philosophy like in his modern incarnations (as seen in All Star Superman as well)
>>93343966
That sounds actually kinda like Lexenberg sans the not mad part
Favorite arch-enemies, huh?
>Green Goblin (Spider-Man)
Osborn, especially Ellis!Norman was GOAT.
>Lex Luthor (Superman)
'Cause fuck you, that's why. Lex is the best.
>Doctor Doom (F4)
DOOM is the only answer you need.
>Black Manta (Aquaman)
*Autistic Schreeching*
>Thawne (Flash)
*MOAR Autistic Schreeching*
>Magneto (X--Men)
Magneto (the Mutant Hitler) did nothing wrong.
As for the rest, I tend to like the B-List villains a tad more.
>>93344018
I'm so glad he's actually a VILLAIN in his new book.
>>93343402
Depends on era (Silver/Bronze/Dark/Modern/New52/Rebirth).
We've had that thread so many times.
>>93343316
All the other Wonder Woman villains you never hear about besides Ares and Cheetah all fucking day. Dr Psycho, White Magician, Silver Sable and Devestation are my favourite.
Superman also has a large stable that doesn't get much focus outside of the same 5 guys. Dominus and Black Zero need to be in more things.
I wish more people would write Norman as a rich pervert type of guy. Like he loves abusing people, but as a public figure he has to be secretive about it. Being the Green Goblin lets him do that in public.
>>93344932
Black Manta's only power is weaponized autism, but it works
>>93345749
Well, that, and his unpenetrable suit with laser-shooting eyes.
