>They've all been made, but not all aired yet. They haven't even finished acting season 1 in US, because... um.... ?

>I have zero idea what the thinking was behind how the show was produced, programmed, marketed, aired or cancelled - and I was there.

>Well, I assume they'll air the rest of season 2 in the US and the rest of the world eventually, but there's no more after that.

Barely even knew the show other than being Family Guy-lite. So, not much of a loss.
>>
This actually got a second season??
Well they got further than I expected.

Still wasn't as bad as Shaggy and Scooby Doo get a clue.
>>
This actually wasn't a bad show at all. The humor was great. Its problem was the artstyle that evokes all the worst cliches.
>>
>>93335324
>Barely even knew the show other than being Family Guy-lite.
You didn't even watch this show MysteryIncfag
>>
>>93335324
This and Wabbit (Which has now been changed to The New Looney Tunes Show) were apart of Boomerang's failed exclusive lineup that they didn't even bother to fucking air on the channel, regardless of the quality of both shows they really got the short end of the stick. Bunnicula is even worse since it was pulled entirely in the US and only airs in the UK at 1am.
>>
>>93335324
Danke schon Jesus.
>>
Cartoon Network is the fucking worst about properly advertising and airing their shit. You better hope your show is a monster hit from day one or you're beyond boned. And even then they'll fuck with airdates and commercials just because.
>>
>>93335324
Such a loss. I like it very much.
>>
One of the worst managed shows at WB animation.
>>
Shame, it was a good show.
>>
A shame, I liked it except for the art style.
>>
>>93335324
>Barely even knew the show other than being Family Guy-lite
Not even close to being Family Guy.
People kept making the claim the art style is like Family Guy when it's not and from there others who didn't watch it, ran with the assumption.
It was actually a funny show.
>>
It wasn't even bad, the design put most people off through. I'm sure another SC series will get made soon.
>>
>>93336007
Honestly, the artstyle felt more like R&M than Family Guy, at least in my eyes.

I dunno, maybe it's because most of the episodes had that "Flash Animation" look to them.
>>
>>93335324
I hope that the next Scooby-Doo cartoon will be drawn in more acceptable artstyle.
>>
Maybe people would have been willing to give it more of a chance if it hadn't followed something as great as Mystery Inc. I really hated the artstyle though, it reminded me of Family Guy.
>>
Hoping Daphne takes up bodybuilding in one of the remaining episodes.
>>
i really can't see the family guy resemblance that people keep insisting on
>>
Damn. It was actually pretty good.
>>
>>93335324
That whole Twitter account is pure JUST.

Not that it's unjustified.
>>
>>93335324
Cartoon Network needs to be stopped. they keep ordering shows, airing them at early ass timeslots, or pushing them onto boomerang (a channel half the population does not have) and killing shows in their first season.l

Meanwhile their regular schedule is 70% or more of Teen Titans Go. And instead of having a variety they just push all the shows that are "different" to the shitter, never giving them a chance.

This behavior single handedly has convinced me that Television is fucking dead.
>>
>>93335324
Good riddance.

Mystery Inc. is the only scooby show that's not utter shit.

I didn't even know it was still on.

They never advertise it and apparently they're not even airing episodes that are already complete?

It was actually pretty fucking decent.

But it doesn't make that SU or TTG money so fuck it, right?
>>
>>93336778
They're also likely going to keep nuPPG going despite the abysmal ratings, because it sells toys.
>>
>>93336434

Neither do I, except for Daphne's design channeling Francine, but that's not even the same show.

/co/ just doesn't like it because it's not muh Mystery Inc.

It really was a good show. Probably the best comedic Scooby incarnation, the only one I can think of that can rival it in terms of humor is A Pup Named Scooby Doo. It's a damn shame how badly CN fucked it over.
>>
>>93336992
I haven't seen an episode of NuPPG in months and I keep my TV on CN 24/7

I've seen Uncle Grandpa more recently than I've seen NuPPG. I have no idea when or where it's airing.
>>
Looked more like Brickleberry than enything else.
>>
>>93337042
BCSD feels more of a traditional SD cartoon

guess people want more serious stuff nowadays (clear goal/ending, myth arcs).
>>
>>93335324

Be Cool had a shitty aesthetic, but the jokes were fantastic

>that episode where Daphne becomes a lawyer and starts deconstructing all the laws they're breaking by investigating a mystery that has nothing to do with them

That was the fuckin best.
>>
>>93337361
fred being a young woody johnson is oddly hilarious
>>
I really feel like people need to start like. Boycotting CN or something. They can't keep getting away with it.
>>
>>93335324
The worst character design, it doesn't even allow me to give a chance to the show. The best series was "Mystery Incorporated" and in second the "what's new Scooby Doo" series. I think this is the worst, it's just the animation. It dissapoints me
>>
>>93337404
It's just the animations and plot of good series getting ridiculized by a reboot or anything else
>>
>>93337571
so, you haven't seen the show based solely on the design?

the whole "it doesn't even allow me to give a chance to the show" is confusing (implies you haven't seen it).
>>
>>93337361
This is objectively correct, it's the same designer
>>
>>93337395

Giving Daphne rotating gimmicks was the best creative direction this show went in.

>She's kind of generic in every source. What gimmick could we give her.
>ALL OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME
>>
My roommate actually was reminded of Mission Hill's art style (mainly in how the legs looked) and bought the series because of this. Might upset him to find out.
>>
>>93336434
I got more of a Brickleberry vibe from it
>>
>>93335324
what a shame. the show was actually kinda funny.

if they hadn't have gone with that retarded family guy art style, more people probably would've watched it.
>>
>>93336987
Fuck man, they don't even treat a shitty show live Steven Universe with the same "respect" they do for TTG.
>>
Pity. It was legitimately funny.

Are the other shows they banished to Boomerang dead yet?
>>
>>93337894

>>
>>93335324
Finally the pain is over, rip off family guy style wtf they were thinking?
>>
>>93337929
It's close to second. Which is well deserved. It's a good show. Hopefully TTG dies and it can take it's place.
>>
>>93338062

If that means he's now out of work, I guess there's a silver lining.
>>
>>93336099
>Maybe people would have been willing to give it more of a chance if it hadn't followed something as great as Mystery Inc
Funny enough Mystery Inc didn't do well either and wasn't that well known so essentially going back to the episodic comedy format felt like a response for its poor reception by much like Mystery Inc the network didn't other to air it.
>>
Why don't they just fully embrace the merchandising meme and upload it all for free to youtube?

The show was funny. Some times too witty for it's own good. As compared to other Cartoon Network shows that go to gags are twerking man ass and belching.

>>
>>93338586
Nickelodeon does the same god damned thing and it's terrible. If it doesn't stand up to Spongebob they just throw it away. Only show I've seen actually stand up to the Yellow Tyrant is Loud House.

Don't even get me started on TTG, though. I swear to god I've even heard actual kids say they're sick of that shit with how much it gets pushed. TTG isn't even all that bad, and would be a decent enough gag show for kids if they just aired it normally instead of cramming it down everyone's throats..
>>
>>93335324
Fuck this sucks.
I liked this show.
Why are all the cartoon channels so shitty with scheduling and advertising their shows?
Why do they favoritize certain shows and throw other shows under the fucking bus?

They have to. CN and WB are owned by the same company. They hate each other, but they have to work together. Like a pair of squabbling siblings stuck together because mom is too drunk to care.

Problem Solverz was clearly meant to be a stoner show on adult swim where the tolerance is higher (see Xavier: Renegade Angel, another ugly looking show that gets by just fine). I have no idea why they tried to market it towards children. Looking it up on wikipedia just now, they pitched it to adult swim first and then got redirected to cartoon network for some reason so it's entirely on the executives.

I get the impression that CN US is rather cavalier towards shows produced by Warner Bros Animation, the exception being Teen Titans Go. They may be sister companies, but that doesn't mean there isn't competition. One of those shows becoming a hit means one less slot for a CN original.

They ought to just bring back the stuff that worked, like The Looney Tunes show.

I'd like a show where they still have humor, but the mysteries are actually taken seriously. That's what I loved about Zombie Island—it's the gang being put in an actual dangerous situation and solving a legit mystery that I wanted to know the answer to.
To accomplish this, they'd have to make every story a 2-parter like Justice League to have enough time to introduce the new characters/suspects and set up the stakes.

Ugh, what a shame. It had a terrible artstyle but the writing was really good. The Christmas episode was probably the best one, IMHO.

If you gave it a chance, and looked past the Seth Macfarlane art style, it was the funniest Scooby-Doo incarnation yet. The artstyle doomed it though.

The best part was they took Daphne, the most boring, underutilized character, and gave her a niche by making her totally batshit.

The dialogue was great, and there were lots of little blink-and-you'll-miss-it sight gags.

But what did you think of the writing?

How does this character designer get work. This and Brickleberry look so damn basic.

I just ordered the DVD to support that show. It's such a funny and cute show and it deserves a chance. It's good it does well internationally, which is what helped Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, and Regular Show. The U.K., Japan, and Latin America have a better sense of humor IMO. Americans just like shitty political humor at the moment and randumb shit, which does not fare well for animation.

Actually no, the regular image is a better fit of how glasses like that might look. Because they're, you know, glass.

I don't think that's completely true. Otherwise I wouldn't have enjoyed Dan Vs. so much. That show looked bad but the writing totally made up for it. Though in this case I really couldn't get over the terrible Family Guy art style.

>Wabbit got canceled too?
Not really it just got re-branded for its second season as The New Looney Tunes Show and started introducing more retooled characters like Porkey and Daffy to the roster instead of just Bugs, Coyote and Sam. Its already aired most of its run in Latin America but none of the episodes have aired in the US they are really trying to bury the show in the ground after they failed to do the same thing Disney did with the new Mickey Mouse shorts.

Scooby and Fred were the only characters that MI improved. Shaggy was too much of an indecisive loser, Daphne was still boring and all about loving Fred and not much else, Velma was a complete bitch BUT she got better when she broke up with Shaggy and actually developed as a character while she isn't the best version of Velma she's not as bad as Be Cool Velma.

>It might have been able to survive the dramatic shift from the previous series that brought in a lot of people that never liked Scooby Doo
Mystery Inc didn't do well also they were still doing new movies every year carrying on the same formula as the original while MI was doing its own thing (when CN aired it that is)so it didn't change anything all Be Cool did was bring the franchise back to the same formula while being more self-aware, people just couldn't get over the artstyle and also it BARELY aired on the channel it was made for.
>>
>>93366669
>People still sucking off Derrick Wyatt's designs

>>
>>93366473
I'm watching S1 of Mystery Inc right now and that's the biggest thing that's bothering me about the show right now. I like Scooby and, while the trap thing is overdone, and emotionally oblivious Fred is pretty funny. But man Shaggy and Velma are not acting like their usual selves, and Daphne's obsession with Fred is like her only trait, which sucks because her character needs to go forward not backward.

Also the relationship stuff seems too forced to me. Why on earth does Velma and Daphne like the guys when they really don't seem to like anything about them? Why do Fred and Daphne not wanna hang out just because the other three are fighting? Why do they make up if in the next episode all they are going to do is fight 2 minutes into the next one? That whole aspect of the show feels sort of sloppy but I guess you could handwave the whole thing by saying "They're just kids, they do shit like this all the time." Which is true and I commend them for actually trying to do something different with the characters, I just wish, if the writers are gonna go that route with these characters, that it felt more put together rather than easy drama.

The show has other things that I like though and I'm only on episode 13 or so, maybe it gets better. Glad to see Velma gets better because she just keeps being an asshole for no reason.

They didn't even try
The Micky Mouse shorts worked because it airs in between shows
>>
>>93366779
The relationship stuff is the weakest element but it stops being the focus as it goes on as the gang acknowledge that they pretty much need a break from one another which actually helps Velma's character a lot. Fred really does come to his own in the second season and MI is my favorite version of his character so I'm glad you're enjoying his antics.
>>
Be Cool has an episode where Fred has a rivalry with a crime solving crocodile named Chomps. And loses.

So, it's actually pretty good.

This is what pisses me off the most they made so many fucking shorts for this and didn't even bother to air even half of them on the fucking network instead they just bunched them into one show which didn't work. They were so obviously trying to ape those Mickey Mouse shorts its sad that they have to cover their shame by sitting on so much hardwork until people forget. People give The Looney Tunes Show a really hard time but at least it tried to do something different much like Mystery Incorporated but seeing Wabbit really makes me wonder what were they thinking by purposing trying to sabotage their brand? They'll still be new Scooby Doo series down the road but what are they going to do with the hundreds of LT characters? Better hope Space Jam 2 becomes a reality.
>>
>>93362766
It does answer the question. The writing is irrelevant. The product is supposed to draw you in visually before the writing hooks you in. If the visuals don't draw you in, you end up with a situation like Be Cool Scooby-Doo where no one even gives it a chance because of how it looks.

>>93362857
Dan Vs' art style isn't the most pleasing, but it's still marginally better than Be Cool Scooby-Doo.

>>93366472
That may be true, but the art design is what gets attention first.
>>
>>93337571
Every episode requires you to get acclimated to the artstyle, but that's just the first 5 minutes. After that you can enjoy the best Scooby Doo show.

Stu Silver had one good point about DC. TW forced them to make shows with TW owned properties, THEN PAY LICENSING to DC to do so.

This is how Teen Titans suddenly got cancelled BUT the entire production team got repurposed to make Ben 10 which CN owns in its entirety with no licensing to pay anyone else.

TW had CN hiatus and killed Young Justice when it was the top seller on iTunes. Not top selling cartoon series, TOP SELLING SERIES IN GENERAL because "girls don't buy toys" as though that was the only purpose to airing a series.

I don't blame Stu for burning DC over and over until TW realized he would never be their bitch.
