That opening is pretty damn slick and the new theme is pretty solid too. The animation in the show probably wont be as fluid as it is here but we can hope for something close. I think my favorite rendition of the DuckTales theme is probably from the Remastered game though. Looking forward to the premiere.

I remember in ducktales the episode where he's under a love spell and the only thing that can dissuade him from the object of his desires is the risk of losing what he loves the most, so the triplets plus webby of course try to destroy his money in front of him, but it doesn't work, and the spell is only broken when the triplets risk having to go away forever or something, because it turns out that deep down what he loves the most is, well, family.

They seem to be leaning into representing all of the different billionaire archetypes with these characters. Scrooge is the Warren Buffet style value investor who is extremely shrewd and prudent, always on the lookout for an undervalued investment. Glomgold is the Carl Icahn style 80s corporate raider who just buys out companies, loads them up with debt and strips out their assets for a quick payout. And so they made a character to represent the Silicon Valley tech titan archetype as well.

Yeah I love it. Maybe the remix of the original song less, but I was expecting it to happen and I guess I will get used to it soon enough. Besides it does have a nice beat which goes along perfectly with the animation, like when the crab monster snaps its claws right on the beat.
As for the animation alone I love how dynamic it is, the involvement of the comic book panels, the portrayal of the bad guys and how it already gives a small insight on what our main characters are like. There's also this small moment of Donald and Scrooge smiling towards each other which makes me smile in return.

I wonder if they'll have new intros with each season. Like showing new bad guys in some way (I'm waiting for Magica to appear).

I think it's a very fun flaw for a character. There's a practically endless amount of gags you can do with it. What we saw with Mr. Krabs is that, for one, his cheapness was retty sociopathic and evil and for two it was the source of the main episode conflict every other episode he showed up in, which gets grating.
I'm mainly worried Scrooge will be a Mary Sue in this new series.

Scrooge is great because while he's a greedy bastard, in Donald/the nephew's cases he does it because he doesn't want them to be coddled too much, he wants them to be tough and proactive, like he had to be. Everything starts from a genuine care for the boys, he just doesn't know how to show it. And there's definitely enough times where they manage to soften him up. Just making him a nice guy who sometimes cheaps out isn't as interesting: the greedy miser who manages to soften up or surprise you with sudden acts of kindness makes for a bigger contrast and more interesting character.

To be honest I never watched much of Ducktales growing up (the little girl duck was annoying but this series has a potential to make her not basically a dumb baby duck) but loved the theme song.

So even if the show sucks at least we have another version of duck tales to sing along to.

It definitely looks like Disney hopes to handle it's reboots better than CN did.

Now to see a Nickelodeon reboot (what one's coming out the soonest? I know Jungle Movie is slated for Thanksgiving at the moment) and see if there's any real hope for reboots.

In the euro Duck Comics where Scrooge is a ridiculously greedy miser and borderline shitcunt, Scrooge's a secondary character to Donald and the triplets, and a minor antagonist sometimes. In a few times, he's even the major antagonist (mostly when he's really being ultra-fucking mean to Donald and letting his greed become an obsession and ruin nature and stuff).
Scrooge McDuck in the DuckTales TV series is however meant to be more sympathetic, so he really can't ever become too much of an asshole miser.
A cheapskate is okay. But not a slave driver who actually pays his very own nephews 30 cents per hour while they're forced to join him on life-threatening adventures.
He must increase the pay to 39 cents to accommodate inflation, after all.
