I enjoy Rick and Morty. I think it's funny, and that they manage to find some genuine pathos in their characters.

At the same time, I do agree that there's a lot of pseudo-intellectualism around the show. Some of the more philosophical points are pretty generic 'nothing matters' nihilism that doesn't really build up much of a point beyond 'your family are assholes but the only people who will ever really care about you'. Which I don't even agree with.

Of the two depressing adult cartoons on air right now, I'd say that Bojack Horseman is actually the better of the two. But I wouldn't say Rick and Morty is bad at all.
