The recent one you're thinking of is Kelly run dp/spiderman series of late, but he went back to his normal ugly self when he nuke-fried itsy bitsy, stealing the kill from spiderman so he wouldn't go evil, messing up metiphistos plans for peter. Dugganpool is great. The ANADA run has been a bit lacking at times, due to plans being upended by Editorial splitting the Mercs for Money into a bunch of Spinoffs rather than each getting an arc in the main book. It's regained it's footing after CWII.

Only real irritation is the too-often 10$ issues. It's why I shifted to tradewaiting on it. Jumped back on due to Secret Empire.

I myself am more worried about Cable, given that Dolph Lundgren is supposed to appear in DC movies. I kinda hoped all 3 actors would play Cable at some point, with Keira Knightley being him after Wade would cause some changes in the computer responsible for monitoring development of fetus.

This is my opinion in general: Unless a character was written to have kids in their first iteration, I'm really resistant to any character that is related to another, especially in comics. It could be the best written daughter/son/whatever and I'll probably still hate them because they had to piggyback them onto an existing popular character or no one would give a fuck about them.

duggan, remender, bunn and a few others all were rotating on dp, posehn was there for a while too.

it wasn't that waypool wasn't popular, in fact his rise in internet popular was tied because 'waypool' era deadpool is the slapstick, cheesecake, quipping deadpool that got passed around the internet and helped his popularity a lot. Not with comic readers in large but people shared pics of him etc.

During The Uncanny X-Force run, it was sort of a rebranding back to a more serious deadpool, he still jokes but he's nothing like nicenzia/waypool stuff that had been happening since Cable&Deadpool, roughly through dark reign, and by waypool = Daniel Way. His run ends in tandem during Uncanny X-Force and after that other people took over DP title. I'm sure someone has the infographic of preferred reading for deadpool that will get posted after I post this.

The big push most people say is reading Kelly run which is considered 'classic' deadpool. Joe Kelly. I liked Nicenzia's Merc with a Mouth run but that was during whole zombie event series. If not you should check out Cable&Deadpool, then pick up the main deadpool series starting in 2012, 2014/all the way today. So roughly last 5, 6 years he has had a growing consistent characterization about 1 ongoing, multiple minis and guest starring in a few others, usually all at the same time.

I'd also suggest the recent Spider-man/Deadpool by Kelly.
