Too much pent up testosterone. They're looking at it as "this shit's gonna look so cool!" rather than conveying proper storytelling and conveying a range in emotions.
Everything else is just "the boring stuff" before you get to the fights and explosions.

It's like expecting Michael Bay's target audience to thoroughly explore the plot. It's just awkward for everyone, and we both know they just wanna stare at the pretty lights while they wait for football season to kick in.
