I'm a "pro" artist (worked with several indie fanzines and comic compilations) and I'm looking for a writer to partner with. I've come here because I started posting my comic here a few years ago. Post your best stories! and I'll choose the one that best accomodates my style and work schedule (mostly sci fi futuristic stuff)
later today I'll post some works of my portfolio so you can see what I do

New Banner.png
1MB, 3000x1055px
Hey /hyw/, I need some advice. Last month I finished my second year of college (I'm an advertising major), and now I'm in the middle of summer, unemployed, living with my parents, with all the time I could possibly want to work on art and anything else.

My trouble is I'm usually completely sapped of motivation, possibly from vidya games as a distraction and a wonky sleeping schedule, and I spend more time looking at other artist's work either admiring it, envying it, or criticizing it, when I'm doing fuck all for myself.

I have a tumblr that I actually used to post short gag-a-week comics to around two years ago, but that stopped and now I post something like once every three months or less. This most recent thing I did attached is a new banner for my tumblr.

I know I have potential; an old art teacher at my high school who I visit fairly often always tells me that. But I don't know where to start, and I don't even have the nerve to go to the links in the first post for help.

Basically what I want to do is draw every day and post enough random stuff to a point where I could start a small webcomic and have it get noticed by a few right off the bat. But my lack of motivation and also the pressure of not making any money and the reality setting in of how long it will take to get to a good point is holding me down I think. Even though I'm well aware getting to a good point will take a long time. And my number one fear is going back to college and having any progress I made fall apart because I've tried and I can't balance this with classes, but maybe I'll try harder next semester.

I guess what I'm really saying is, wish me luck.
>>
>>93300970
It may not seem like it, but what you're doing right now is still helping. You're relaxing and absorbing a lot of art, and doing a lot of thinking. Once you get started, you'll see how this helped
But you really should start now.

>>
How do you even come up with plotlines?

I used to imagine dumb little stories to entertain myself walking places when listening to music but that's no longer effective.

Actually it's becoming more of a problem than it is for pretending I'm ever going to start making a comic. It's hard to motivate myself to go to the store if I can't also use it as a 20 minute block of escapism.

Would you read a pseudo-realistic fantasy webcomic about a random bunch of (rotating) pilgrims, mercenaries, runaways and wizards trying really hard not to die (and mostly fail) while travelling to nowhere in particular?

I am a bit anxious about making a fantasy comic where death comes cheap and fast, fights are typically over fast, in maybe half a page or even one panel, and people die in pretty fucked up ways.

Most fantasy comics I know do it more heroic and I dunno if people will dig deviations on it.

well it's pretty much just cheap printing with a monochrome color and some oldschool illustrations. the minimalism helps intensify it, I think, and the square shape also helps since Im making the comic square shaped
>>

>square shaped comic

Sounds pretty cool mate.
>>
>>93302546
Yeah it's supposed to create a sense of unnatural control that contrasts what people are used to, and add to a sense of paranoia and dread. It's also a good way to make some neat illustrative storytelling based on repetition, patterns, and illusions.

It's also like that for a canonical reason, so it works well.

Write your ideas down. Now the next time you listen to music and get new ideas you can add them to your existing ideas. Then as you become more familiar w/ base concept you get the confidence to edit down your idea and refine it to get your starting point.
>>
>>93305959
I think it's actually clever in a way.

I remember a documentary about Japan's ways of beekeeping, and how the local wasps kept killing the European bees they got. Meanwhile the beekeepers who had native Japanese bees had no issue with the wasps because the bees would quickly surround the wasp until she overheated. So the anon's scenario would look cool.
>>

yeah their situation is pretty complex really. wasps are a lot more chill than bees despite having a reusable weapon, but the whole eusocial thing has admirable qualities

It's about a family of nobles at the top of the hierarchy in a feudal society (despite wearing clothes like they're from the Victorian Era.) The story is mostly about the dynamic between family relationships and the responsibilities they bear as Imperial dynasts.

Well to go in depth, it's set in a world where the nobility inherit powers that discerns them from the common folk. These powers range from the ability to read emotions/motives through eye contact, or a teleporting a short distance as long as you have a line of path, which helps in combat.

The whole overarching plot is that pagan gods rise from their slumber, jealous that the descendants of their faithful have forsaken them, and attempt an invasion. It's like if Odin, Zeus, Svarog, Tengri, and even Celtic gods decided to declare war on Jesus.

There's an ensemble of characters, but the main focuses are the grandchildren of the Emperor through his late eldest son; the Crown Prince who is regarded as a prodigy in terms of education and raw talent, who is naive and lacks the experience of the previous generation, who had endured a civil war that began with their birth and ended with the next generation's birth. There's also the sister who I'm still trying to develop more, but she's a Princess who just likes to fight and mostly has trouble getting along with her aunt who was brought back from the frontier (she was married off to a Barbarian King) in order to teach her manners and etiquette. And then there's the younger brother, a meek and timid child who has shown no promise as a knight, he hasn't displayed any noble powers yet, though the family still loves him but he has a lot of pressure for greatness.

Funny thing, not much of Ice and Fire actually influenced my writing, I think GRRM and I were influenced from the same sources, such as Henry II and his own sons and the drama they had. Although I will say that the story I'm writing isn't meant to be any sort of Dark Fantasy, it was born from my frustration with anime and how it failed to deliver any decent shounen medieval shows, so I started forming this world of mine.

Its first form was that it's set in a Medieval Private High School set in the Imperial Capital where the children of the Great Nobles from across the Empire gather for schooling (it's a great place for the nobility to build resources and connections, but also a way for the Emperor to have low-key hostages.)

I've been trying to study HEMA, since while the nobility might have varying powers, one of the defining factors of their fighting is their fighting style and principles they use, their powers only augment or aid their fighting styles. It gives an outlet for that one anime character who likes to explain everything to explain the audience what's up, such as striking someone with the false side of the blade.

Hey guys. So I just teamed up with an artist and we are working on our first comic project, titled "the rainbow knife".
Can't post anything as of now but will show some WIPs once we get there.

Can you give me any advice or experiences on working in a combo?
On a related note, has anyone here made a submission for hiveworks or actually been accepted and can talk a bit how they work with artists? Their homepage seems very vague on this topic, they only get specific when it comes to the required content of the submission...

I admire your stubbornness, dewd. You're really commited to your comic, in a sense.

I have a question: if someone actually subscribed to you on patreon would that compell you to work on some of the problems of your comic and to start to listen to the advice you so frequently get in these threads but almost always ignore?

Haven't posted in a while. I keep updating my webcomic (Wilfreda the Wanna-Be Witch) at a steady pace, once per week. It used to be twice per week, but June is always a messy month to work with.

We're currently on an arc featuring Julian, the chubby kid of the group, as he looks forward to learning to prepare tasty treats. In the latest strip (pic related) we can also see that Miss Mimi, the school's teacher, is easily excitable. Those who have been following the webcomic may remember she's already gone overboard with a couple of ideas inspired by her students, before.

My comic idea revolves around the story of two roomates that live in the outer city of a fictional Tijuana, Mexico. The story mainly focuses on the adventures with bizarre and overnatural occurencies between characters, while trying to keep their powers lowkey in order to fit in a common world. They aren't special tho, since there are other scarce characters that have other overnatural abilities which they use for multiple purposes.
The main theme is to give each character interactions with all types of situations, going from just talking about some lame problems to going full Dragon Ball Z at some points. But mostly, Make it episodic so that I can have shift tone without it affecting the plot much.

<Pic is Frida, one of the two roomates, is a sweetheart and tries to find positivity in everything. She later develops to be a very strong character, Both metaphorically like physically

I wasn't trying to show off with them, just get a new Topic for the thread going since it's been a bit slow, especially compared to the last thread we had.

I mostly use doodles as visual cues to remember characters, Settings and so on, they're not meant as accurate representations of the actual designs.

It's situations like These that make me consider becoming a tripfag or at least make it understandable why we have so many in /hyw/...

There are, that image you responded to is actually all of the same character in different costumes.

The middle one in this image is the sister of the Crown Prince, the left one is their cousin from their paternal uncle and the right one is another cousin from their paternal aunt.

Maybe I'm just a faggot but I certainly do enjoy drawing dudes more than I do girls, but I do have a variety of females. Most drawings I have with women are in my sketchpad instead of the computer though.

yeah I'm definitely not going to continue the whole generational thing in the next iteration of the comic, as I've learned the hard way what Xanth already kind of taught me: if you keep on hybridizing every generation, you end up with a main cast who is one-eighth this kind of mythological creature, three-eighths that kind, one-quarter human, etc etc until it's just a mess.
It's not unlike the well-meaning but unsustainable practice of hyphenating last names. it's like.. ladies, your last name still came from your dad.

The story is mainly early-mid 20's
knowing what you want to do with your life but being stuck, relationships you have in that situation, and getting unstuck
Basic storytelling but relatable

She is what was aforementioned in art school, wants to make comics, drudgery of not needing art school and the debt you get from it.
Some friends stuck in the drug cycle also, like get up party, come home, sleep rinse and repeat and distancing from them

But it's mainly humor with some relatable undertones you can call serious i guess
A coming of age story, once you're in the age of cumming

The powers come from darker depths where the Chinese brought some ancient arts of chi manipulation during the era of the 1900's when the USA was building train tracks and hired the Chinese for lower cost man power. Eventually these Chinese became unemployed and settled both in Mexicali and Tijuana, two great Mexican cities of the region, from there the teachings of said chi manipulation techniques moved on and slightly spread giving some individuals certain special abilities depending on what they trained their energy for. (These abilities have no name but the characters call it "Bean power" as a joke since they say that eating a healthy bowl of beans gives you super powers). Most of the characters have parents or grandparents who had been taught to use this energy and passed it on. The energy used is flexible, it has countless amount of uses depending on how the person manages it.

If I may receive some advice, I used to design this character with a beard, but I've always drawn him without a beard at first to build his jaw structure before I add in his beard. Beardless Emperor looks just as cool as bearded Emperor.

Perhaps a bit of his background may help with the decision making process. He's the sovereign of an Empire that endured a generation of civil war in order to reaffirom the authority of his throne. He's known for committing ruthless acts, though he never took pleasure in it. During his conquest he emotionally neglected his own children, threw grew up during the war and partook in it themselves, along with the rest of their generation. The war ended around the birth of his generation's grandchildren, during a time when he was winning a hopeless war for the opposition, though he called it off when he discovered his eldest son had died. The story is set around a decade and a half since the end of the war and he had recalled his surviving children and his grandchildren in order to watch them grow, which he never did with his own children. He doesn't know how to show love to his grandchildren.

Anyway, does he look good shaved or with a beard?

Actually you've hit right on the head both what you did right and wrong. drawing a jaw first is important for getting the beard right because different jaws make different beards
this guy has an 'elbow' type chin.. but his beard has significant sidecurtains that that kind of jaw simply wouldn't have. He should have a much more '60s scifi b-movie villain' beard with that chin. or at best, a count dooku.

It's an action-comedy about two rival, mask-wearing clans in feudal Japan. As my first webcomic, I've still got much to learn, but have come along way since the beginning! Here's the link!

Kid Radd is one of the greatest webcomics of all time and I challenge anyone to find a worse site to read it on. There's a distinct potato-people look to it. The earlier comics have the loosest grasp on anatomy but most lines of action for poses can be best equated to: \

EVERY character stands oddly stilted at an angle even when they're supposed to be standing straight. The shoulders are almost always hunched and the limb stiff. A pose like the one in that picture is a marked improvement from the earlier years because at least there's a sense of movement through it.

That said the faces are always unbelievably ugly and lack appeal.

This is a common problem with beginning Web comic artists or especially wannabes who never really make their comic. NO appreciation for writing. Impressive art only promotes the STORY, which is why people READ the comic in the first place. Writing is essential. Bad art is not the same as simple art. There are shortcuts to illustrating, but not to writing. Visually Simple but well written comic will leave an impact on the reader, but a weak story with amazing art will be browsed through here and there and quickly forgotten.

Fucking study writing, people, it's part of the process.
>>
>>93332340

Writer =/= idea goy

A big thing about being a writer is learning to appreciate the drawbacks and limitations of whatever medium you're working in. You also need to, you know, actually make something more substantial than a five minute elevator pitch.

This is a different ballgame entirely from vidya developing though, writing I'd argue is more critical here, while your fifty pages of deepest lore for your DnD derivative fantasy setting isn't going to make your RPG idea any closer to becoming a reality.
>>
>>93335744
Exactly. The reason I wanted to emphasize why writing is important is because some web comic people don't see that execution is critical, not concepts. Dialogue and story structure for an example take time and effort to learn. There is a common myth that these things are somehow easy.
>>
>>93335888
art is harder

Art is "harder" in that it takes longer to learn how to make decent art while we're trained in writing from a very young age. In terms of actual difficulty I think that it's way more even, and there are just as many bad artists who think their writing will save them as there are bad writers who think that their art will save them.
>>
>>93332340
I think you are thinkig just from the perspective of a writer, yeah it's half of the job in a comic, and of course iits the part that will keep your readers interested, but to ge to that point your art must be held to a certain stanrdad, your art is expected to be a)appealing to the viewer and b)fitted to the story you're writing
how do you expecto to make a space odyssey if you can't draw spaceships or a fucking astronaut suit, writing its just half of the work not 3/4
>>
>>93338348
I think most people focus on getting to a certain point of technical artistic abilities before because it's an actual physical activity that you can only learn really well in the youth, writing can be polished as you grow up
>>
>>93338526
>it's an actual physical activity that you can only learn really well in the youth

>>
>>93332064
got an idea?
>>
>>93332340
there's inherent value and then there's value as decided by market forces. in the latter case, art is more valuable.
You can't have a good comic without good art and writing, but good writing is easier to find, and usually requires less time and effort on the part of the person doing it. there's no writing equivalent of 'shading' for example, especially not for comics.
>>
You act like you don't want it but I'm gonna give it to you anyways.
>>
>>93338035
you can't just alt-tab as you work? or copy the reference, open it in your art program, and put them side by side?
>>
>>93338709
van gogh never stopped sucking
but he just proves you can be a good artist without having good technical skill. art's something else entirely, it's about expressing yourself
but in the common parlance when we say 'art' we mean 'graphics'.. and i think you know that. you can be good at actual-art and be bad at art-as-in-graphics
>>
>>93339237
All that's kind of a hassle with timed drawing.

Side by side gives me like no space to to actually draw. Alt-tabbing, I have to switch between pen and mouse or keyboard and it eats up time to draw and makes the whole experience just not fun. I would like to actually enjoy my time learning how to draw.
>>
>>93339335
you don't have your tablet next to your keyboard? how do you do shortcuts? does your tablet have buttons? that's pretty cool
>>
>>93339384
Don't most tablets have buttons? I just have a cheapo monoprice one and it has like six at the top. I usually just put my keyboard on the floor when I draw. I guess I could put something in my lap?

And either way, I have a lot of down time at work, so I'd like to have a mobile app for timed drawing even after I get a second monitor so I can practice with pen and paper when I'm not at a computer.
>>
>>93339484
mine has a bunch of.. labels at the top, but I've never tried using them
it's a lot easier for me to put the tablet where the mouse goes and use it the same as you would keyboard and mouse combo. left hand can handle everything like ctrl-z, all the tool shortcuts, alt-tab, etc.

This looks ... incredibly familiar. I had this old book as a kid, most of the animals looked vague like this mammal. they all had hebrew names too, that's all i can remember. i havent been able to find anything on it online.. it was something like new baby at the zoo.. there was a new baby something named benjamin, and you couldnt tell what the fuck any of the animals were supposed to be, but they were all super endearing.

>>93354691
I'm genuinely fascinated by this kind of person. I want to know what they're like in real life, why they do this. I think I actually did talk to one on a chat once, and he turned out to be a supremely shitty person, and also puzzling in his contradictions. Exactly the kind I went to college with. Like a bro one minute, then fuming at you the second for some imagined slight.. Admitting to shitposting in a way that sounds kinda-sorta like he's ashamed of it, but then trying to play it off like it's no big deal
>>
>>93354725
I'm really shitty and my life is a total disaster but I never get angry, I just get depressed and run away if things go awry. I'm incapable of having friends for that reason.

I would love to talk with people but I'm incredibly afraid of them for the reasons I stated above.

At least you recognize it. I mean assuming this isn't fake (you're not doing yourself any favors posting the feels guy images). Then again I've known people like this to go to elaborate means and then haha I was just kidding and then they weren't kidding but that was a defense. Sometimes several more times.
Anyway, keep your eyes open. No two people are alike, you can't predict anyone's reaction to your attempts to open up until you get to know them a bit and see how they treat people. Pick someone nice, give it a shot. Do something nice for them. If you can't work up the balls, then just do it anyway because you kind of owe us, or something. Like keep that mindset if that helps.

>>93355401
Hey, thanks man.
Yeah those are her casual clothes, when she's hanging out somewhere. Basically she gets out of a stasis pod that kept her trapped for a few centuries and is completely distressed about how much time has passed. The guys that got her out take her in since she more or less saved their skins a few hours later. She then acts as the reader's eyes, discovering shit the same way we do, following the crew on some of their works.

I was looking at some Humans of New-York for the clothes inspiration. You usually find some weird shit in no time.
>>
>>93301222
>I used to imagine dumb little stories to entertain myself walking places when listening to music but that's no longer effective.
That's basically how it starts. I get cocnepts of characters this way. Then i refine them; Tie them together and refuine them some more. Same with stories, you get the shards together, tie them, think about the way things escalate up to this point; Then refine the shit out of the plot. Then you write everything down, you make storyboard, you cut stuff you don't like and add things for an easier read/exposition later.

Your art is awesome, it's sketchy but one can see that you have a lot of skill. I don't use this word often because it's become a complete meme - but your comic is really confy, like, say, the moomins...

The only thing that doesn't work is the font, it clashes with the art. Use a different font, in fact, I'd recommend you to do the text in handwriting, that would really fit the tone of the comic.

Keep up the good work!

Comics are not the best way to improve, since you're doing a lot in quantity but also relative consistency. There are some things that comics force you to practice, like poses and backgrounds, but in terms of how you actually draw, a comic will mostly just reinforce the way you already are drawing, and the habits you currently have.

>Spend a couple months putting real work into an idea i've been off and on working on for a year
>Wake up one day
>Completely hate literally everything i've done except for the character designs

I grew up developing my characters and stories by bouncing them off people in roleplays but at 26 i don't have many friends still into roleplaying (especially not OCs, they all just wanna rp fandom shit)

I'm just kinda stuck and hating my own ideas a lot now. How do you guys get over this?

Here's the basic idea if anyone wants to give me some feedback. Some names and terms are placeholders.
>Story focuses on Nova, a witch who's about to become 'leader' of her area of her world. She was taken from her parents as a kid because the 'prophecy' told the real leader witches (the 'council") that she was the next 'princess.' so her whole life has been spent grooming her for a life she didn't have a choice in having.
>Nova, good with potions, makes a complicated potion to open a portal to another world but she forgets a key ingredient. The portal was supposed to only work for Nova but since she forgot the ingredient, it just pulled out a girl most like Nova (some kinda 'essence' rather than personality similarities or similarities in looks)
>This girl, Mimi, is now stuck in Nova's world so Nova asks her to trade places with her for awhile so she can live a normal life
>I don't have much written for the middle area of the plot but i know the ending would be somethig like Nova going back on her deal to switch back with Mimi when she could make the portal potion again, and Nova just leaves Mimi there to be princess and goes to live her life as a human in our world.

I have a few other characters and a few storylines written for them but no real clear way of getting from the beginning to the end.

Thoughts? :(

It's not an unfamiliar feeling when I draw, but it's harder to accept with writing. Sigh.

Is what I have any good? Am I being too hard on myself or did i just really realize my idea sucks?
>>
>>93364293
That story doesn't really sound like much on its own, but what matters is the execution anyway. Why don't you (this should help with your motivation too) Get back to your roleplay roots and start imagining specific scenes and dialogues.. a certain thing being discovered or decided. Once you get some of those down you'll have a feel for what the comic's going to be like from page to page, which is a bit more important than its overarching plot since most readers will forget anyway
>>
>>93364401
Like roleplay with myself, basically? I'll try it. Gonna have a lot of free time while i visit family next week so worth a shot.

Thank you anon, your reply makes me feel a little less hopeless over it all.
>>
>>93364372
you just have to work longer at it

Also simplify, remove shit that is only there to justify the plot. Nova is the next heir beacuse she's the queen's daughter. This is a classic prince and the poor tale, you don't have to shy away from it to make it good.

This seems like a straightforward City Mouse and Country Mouse storyline with a decidedly sci-fi twist. You can easily make it work.

What you really need here is just some sort of conflict here, some outside pressure that forces the heroes to do [thing] before [pressuring event] which will cause [consequence].

So what is the goal here? For Mimi and Nova to live each others lives until they can find a way to get Mimi back home? Who's stopping them from doing that, the council?

>>93364649

If you're still around, I wouldn't mind roleplaying with you. I used to do that whole OC-roleplaying thing, but I agree you don't find too many people into that nowadays.
pls reply with your preferred platform, if you're interested.

As for the problem you're having with your story. Maybe have Mimi start off with, "Why doesn't she wanna be a princess? It's awesome!" Pretty dresses, no homework or classes, job whatever, servants, everyone is nice to you. But then gradually have her understand the pressure, responsibility, culture, and expectations she has to live up to and maybe empathize with Nova. Have Mimi understand the important role a Princess has, and why Mimi and Nova need to return to their worlds.

His just as butch younger sister Mackenzie who just got out of prison for causing one of the biggest traffic accidents in recent history on accident, the series would follow around the two busting crime in a universe where basically anything can happen from monsters, to super villains, to aliens or demons pretty much.

Normally I'd say skip the recap, but your plot can be a little hard to follow
I say do one, but do it in your typical goofy offbeat manner so it's not as boring as a usual recap
like what if Anna is giving a shitty rendition of how it went and Sarah is getting increasingly pissy and making corrections

Dammit I will NOT be trapped by a reverse trap. I .. I forbid it!

I want to think I'm way slower at drawing because I draw better. But now that I look carefully, my drawings are not much better than your dewd.
>>
>>93372831
getting comfortable with your art enough to go fast and still have consistency is a separate skill from most of the others. sometimes one skill gets ahead of others in what seems like the wrong order, but ahead is ahead.

I tried doing this except instead of Sarah I used Jack, and then it got too sad a little melodramatic. And I basically just wasted a night writing. I think I'm just gonna continue on with the plot.

Maybe I'll do a short video or something. or maybe not, I dunno.

lookin pretty good. poor dear, that forehead stubble.. I know how that is.
Her neck should probably be just a tad thicker, it's odd if your neck is thinner than your wrist, right? and her torso and legs seem to be rather squat compared to her elongated head and arms, but I don't know if that's normal for your goblins.
Do also keep in mind that, while her hair is covering her ears' attachment points, they still HAVE attachment points.. and right now it looks like they'd end before reaching the head.

oh no yeah, of course. Its just that goblin's particular hairstyle that covers it. and all goblins have that spotty hair, its just a goblin trait. Goblins arent supposed to be particularly attractive to humans, but the hair things normal for them so they see it as attractive.

yeah you see what I mean, right? These examples here and in >>93375578, the ears look nicely integrated, but in the one with hair, you let the hair kind of throw off your ear placement a bit. I do it all the time

>>93375836
DAMN! What a treasure trove of awesome creature designs my dude! It's a fucking shame you aren't getting more attention.

On your tumblr, you should really tag your work so you can divide it up from you reblogs, I'd like to sift through your art easier that way.

Now I gotta git gud with my monster design and make sure I turn up the heat in the future haha!
>>
>>93375951
I welcome the competition! and despite being on tumblr for at least a year now, i still have no idea how to use it hahaha
>>
>>93376007
Eh, I really don't either. I tag my stuff and like posts. But I'm sure there's a system to that madness that can get you more views.
Whatever it is...
>>
>>93376042
You've got good shit too my friend. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future.
>>
>>93376063
Hopefully after the arc we're working on in the comic, I can illustrate some pictures that isn't just comic pages lol.

So I can practice and boost the series with cool pics.

You got a solid idea for your comic?
>>
>>93376042
Apparently the more likes a post has, the more visible it is when people check the tags. Apparently. Have not seen it working 100%.
>>
Dammit whatever I make next is going to have more cool monsters in it. at least six or seven more cool monsters. i gotta join this club.

Out of curiosity my dudes, what do you guys do for a living?

Job?
Why do you do art? Why do you want to make a comic(s)?

I want to learn more about the community

out of work voiceover artist and burned-out clerical worker currently doing customer service for a cat-sitting business. still looking for a new agent, my old one found me zero work and then I had to move out of her area when I could no longer afford it.
>>
>>93376580
oh shit, there was more to that question, I just kind of bummed myself out.
uhh, I started comic-ing because I wanted to do a little art every day when I found I'd have less free time coming up.. and then I just got hooked on the setting and I love them all too much to ever stop
>>
>>93376580
>>93376603

What kind of things did you voiceover for? Good luck dude, I hope you get picked up again

Oh that's awesome, that's a fun way to stay active art-wise.

I'm a house animator for a small studio where we make media content for commercials, apps, tv shows, some games, etc. etc.
(seems like there's just not enough time to make a comic some times y'know?)
I started Boys Land with the writer so we could create this awesome story we've been developing for years now.
>>
>>93376644
used car ads, luxury home tours, news articles.. pretty piddlin' stuff.
>house animator
awesome, i've heard a lot of that going around lately. glad people are getting that kind of consistent work in that field. ... even if most commercials and 'apps' are kinda dumb nowadays

I won't complain, it's stable work that helps me focus on my skill and let's me make webcomics for free after work.

I couldn't make it without this job lol.
>>
>>93377300
That works too, yeah

I did these last 2 threads but Lucy anon said would add minor additions if this one died although idk if it was just if this one died like the last one or if it reached bump limit >>93294957 , not sure what to proceed here.
>>
>>93376151
Yeah, I've got a whole outline of events I want to have happen, but I've also got like 5 places where I can throw in filler to flesh out the world.

I also want to take a queue from homestuck and have some parts of the comic be a videogame
I have no idea how to properly do these things thought
>>
>>93377428
Well now I'm really excited for this comic.

When you say game, are you wanting that Pokemon-style overworld exploration style Homestuck went for, or do you have something else in mind?

Homestuck has got me inspired too, I'd love to create animations for the comic from time to time to help spice up some moments.
