Shoulder things would limit mobility of arms, neck thing mobility of head and sight, helmet is too top heavy. He'd have a migraine at the very least from that shit, and armor is too heavy and clunky. Dude's basically a ninja martial artist, he doesn't need all that shit. Hell, if it weren't for the bat motif, Bruce could easily fight crime in his underwear with a boomerang.
He's not Iron Man. Usually with Batman costumes, the simpler the better.

Pretty much. At least as Azrael they tined it down, and Jean Paul's always been more of a hack and slash than stealth mode, so in his case, his later costume works. That being said, they clearly didn't read the Azbat story where it very much makes it clear why this doesn't fit for Batman.
