As a kid, I used to get toy variants all the time with 'battle damage'. Intentionally designed with parts that broke away, or damaged attire.
They were there to better fill displays with popular characters... But in time I garnered a fascination with the image of heroes, persevering beyond the pain of their injuries.
And right now, I feel like making a thread about it to hear thoughts, find like minds, or be told 'that's not a thing you dummy.'
Either way, I hope it goes somewhere.

Personally I much prefer it when heroes get fucked up over the course of a fight. Makes the whole thing feel like it's got higher stakes, and when they come out on top in the end it's that much more triumphant.

I always thought some heroes should get the occasional amputation... Like imagine if batman got tortured and had to reattach an arm or something.. It could be pretty tense
