Cartoon Network funded a project headed by Craig McCracken called the Cartoonstitute. The idea was to recreate what the What a Cartoon Show was to the network and help showcase some pilots. out of the 39 pilots that the project was supposed to produce only 14 of them were ever made. Out of the finished pilots only two of them went on to become series and those were Regular Show and Uncle Grandpa.

There was supposed to be a good Stargate cartoon that would have had enough collaboration with SG-1 that it would have been allowed to add to the canon, the biggest thing being showing the Ancients which at the time had not been seen yet.
