I know Canada has made good cartoons. Why are those cartoons good and others aren't? I know Canadian animation is more cheaply made usually.
Also I am glad I know almost nothing about that show.

I unironically enjoy seeing cartoons with smears.
>>93278888
I don't enjoy anything"ironically" because I'm not a faggot.
>>93278924
I agree with you but these days you have to specify unironically with things because so many faggots enjoy things ironically.
>>93278888
Smearing it's good, it's a signal of good animation.

>>93277972
That's gotta hurt.
>>93278975
Not when you look at Kennedy Animation.

>I choos- *crack*
I can't stop giggling like an imbecile imagining the whole battle being put on hold because Ash got too hyped with the throwing and ended up misplacing his shoulder.

God, why don't they just draw the smears on a separate layer instead of just stretching the puppet rigs in an attempt to make it look smearish.

Even more so if you mirror the smears.

Brad and Tuck pretty much just turned into Ophanim.
>>93282964
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this.
Apologies about the subtitles.

Its a smear if I ever saw one
You would think the Flash would have the biggest amount of smears based on his powers

I do have a couple Flash smears.

On tonight's episode, the part of Superman will be played by Slenderman.

I should go back through STAS and see if there are any more instances of Wide Supergirl.

Fun fact: Giygas didn't actually drive himself insane by overloading his PSI powers. He was just practicing teleportation by going super fast and got stuck.
>>93278582
Anyone have that smear screencap of Helga with Lobster claws from the Hey Arnold episode, "Ms. Perfect"?

>Kennedy Cartoons
These are 4 consecutive frames. What the fuck were they thinking?
Ironically, the "fake credit" at the end of this episode is "MORAL OF THE STORY: WE NEED MORE ANIMATORS"

The big problem with Canadian cartoons is that the law says a certain portion of all television must be Canadian-made. Seem fair right? But the shitty part is that the animation studios don't get any extra funding to help meet these demands, resulting in a lot of shitty shows so they can meet requirements.
My personal favorite Canadian cartoon is Martin Mystery. That show is a fucking blast.
>>93277860
>>93285475
We need more.
>>93278582
Any animator here who can tell me how to tackle a smear?
It looks so random but i guess (because you have to draw it) there is a rule to these?
>>93286473
jErOmY
>>93278481
I hear Canada has a law that a studio must mandatorily make a new series at least every year to stay afloat or something.
>>93278458
>>93285741
damn, Batman looks like THAT???
>>93292235
I think the idea is to just exaggerate as much as you can. There isn't really a set rule on how to do it.
>>93278978
>Peridot...takes on her multi-armed form, and says....
>"Now I am become death.... the destroyer of worlds."
>I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.
>>93285670
I'm going ghost!
>>93292235
I guess it is the same principles only a lot more exaggerated, line of action and timing.
there seems to be two main types of smears, ones that are just one whole object with extreme squash and stretch and the others which emulates a motion blur (with multiple hands indication the rapid motion of one hand). notice the blending of both methods with a hand drawn like a blob but with the features less distorted at the begining or end of the motion, (sometimes it can be both). >>93285633

He's more powerful AS a locomotive.
Do Laika movies have smears?
>>93293541
also here's another pick about timing, from richard williams 'animators survival kit' book, which I recommend if you don't know about it.
>>93280343
they look like weiners.
When Plastic Man is not doing smears, he's doing Squash & Stretch, he's great animation personified.
