While most mystical beings are powered by belief, the Boogeyman's power comes mostly from those children that chose not to believe in him, continuing their mischief. Such little twerps give the binded hive of evil just enough soul strength to plague the dreams of those who believe - until the unbelieving kids "mysteriously disappear", joining the hive and beginning the cycle anew. The Boogeyman's goal is to gather enough souls to be able to threaten the dreams, and, perhaps, even flesh and soul of the adults who have abandoned their belief in him, as feasting upon so many souls would elevate It to the ranks of gods.
