Rage of Ultron OGN by Remender. Last thing he did at Marvel and it's one of my favorite Marvel books. It's where Pymtron comes from. Basically a quarter the book is in the past like that and the rest is 'present day' when Ultron comes back and it's up to Hank and Vision to kill their son/father.

that's a pretty half baked Pym. Pym DOESN'T just let 50/50 odds rule him. He plays to statistics, and usually only follows the 80-90%. if faced with a 50.50 Hank would chose those he loves and those who are capable of love. Like, Pymtron believes she's just a fake, a plot against him and tries to kill her but she refuses to be murdered by such an INEFFICIENT death beam, and then they start what is the best way to improve cooling and at the end they improved the beam effectiveness over thrice times the original and Pymtron is "Oh god. you ARE my daughter!"

...which ends up with Pymtron having another breakdown because he absolutely and totally failed her, never even knowing she existed but Nadia, not being Jan, manages to rescue him from that.

I don't really agree with the post's descriptions of Tony & Hank, tbqh.

For Tony, it breaks him down into a very simple character. Tony's deal isn't that he's about living the easy life. It's about his ego, even if he denies it, is so big, that he feels the oonly way the world can advance, is if it's guided by him and him specifically. He's essentially Doom without the fascism. There's a fine difference, and that is that where Doom is going to take you over, put you in "chains" and keep you in fancy cages to protect you, Tony is going to take you by the hand and "guide" you to the "correct", according to him path. Tony's motivations and character go beyond preservation. Yeah, sure, he should enjoy making money andfucking models. But that's not all. I will agree that he's all about creating things and not really discovering laws.

As for Pym, I think it also turns him into a simpler character. Whereas Reed explores just for the sake of it, Pym explores science because it's fun, and because he genuinely wants to help people. but because Reed is a tad better at exploring, and Tony is a tad better at building, he lets the anxiety and guilt wash over him and he goes nutso. He has the tools, he has the will, but he fucks it up. But he genuinely cares about helping people. Not "guiding" them like Tony, just... helping.

At least that's my take.

it makes a lot more sense than the Speed force, at least the shrinking part does. Especially as they are pym particleS and the diagram supports this, having multiple particles lets you move on multiple axis. He also had to make seperate serums for antman and giantman meaning the combination is different.

But mathematically, it's easy to attain ant-man size by just changing the mass of electrons. Using the Bohr radius on hydrogen atoms for simplified calculations (it's not correct but gives a ballpark idea which is good enough for comics) you can shrink the atom 100x just by changing the electrons into Muons. But since electrons are so light compared to the nucleus of an atom it adds only about 5% to the weight of the atom. So just by shifting the mass of electrons you can change the size of the atoms.

As for weight so he can ride an ant, that employs some tricks that aren't in the comics and are fringe theories. String theory posits extra dimensions that are tiny and curled up. Gravity theoretically should work on all these dimensions, so pym particles could change the effect that gravity has on those atoms, and make it have more or less impact on 3 dimensional space. Alternatively, and the idea I like more, is simply just have the pym particles interact with the nucleus to decouple weight and mass, split them into two so you can retain mass and thus inertia giving him super strength, and have weight being only slightly interacting with mass.

The infinite mansion is easy, he just shrunk it to the quantum realm and uses quantum entanglement to act as tethers to anywhere on earth

Haven't been Marvel since siege can someone give me a quick rundown about Pym? He was always my favorite avenger. Read the Remender run of him, pretty gud.

After Siege Pym started a school, Avengers Academy. He took in students who were tortured and experimented on by Norman Osborn...bad stuff, Metal had his skin peeled of every day and regrow harder until he lost all sensation. Pretty bad stuff. But he knew that these students have the potential to turn against the world and become villains so he brought in teachers who had fucked up, like Quicksilver, Tigra and Speedball.

Really good run actually.

He mainly appeared as a background character until Rage of Ultron where Ultron infected everyone on earth and was going to infect the universe with himself. Vision merged with Ultron so Pym could kill him. But Pym felt so terrible he reach out for Vision/Ultron and Ultron merged with Pym

Now, no one seems to know who's really in charge or if there is some sort of duel personality or whatever.
