It's alright for a one time watch. Season 2 is miles better than season one but I can't help but think something is missing that would gel the show nicely. Something about itself characters and to be feels off. If you enjoy crazy bubbly anime girls doing stupid shit for two seasons with an occasional episode off to deal with a plot point or another character you'll like it for that.

I really like Steven Universe (Although the first half of season 4 was atrocious) and I also really like Star vs. I'd definitely say give it a go. A bit like SU, it starts weak but finds its stride later, so definitely watch until the Blood Moon Ball episode before making decisions about dropping.

I haven't seen this kind of bait before even though it's weirdly subtle.

SvtFoE is something you'll definitely enjoy if you liked SU, it's everything SU could be, except actually good. AT is in a similar vein but it's a lot different from both of them, when AT is good it's REALLY fucking good, but there is some down time(plot lines) that kind of slow down the pace of the show and make it much less enjoyable.
