In related news, the "Vanishing Point" hinted at on the Secret Empire variant covers does indeed tie into Generations.
https://www.newsarama.com/34946-how-secret-empire-s-vanishing-point-ties-into-generations.html

>In a flash, the Marvel heroes are offered a gift: to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who came before them, free from the burdens of past, present, and future – where time has no meaning. Within the Vanishing Point, through the course of these action-packed adventures, our heroes will discover what is needed to usher in the future of the Marvel Universe. This August, prepare for Marvel’s GENERATIONS!

>This epic 10-issue series brings together iconic and present day heroes such as Miles Morales and Peter Parker, Amadeus Cho and Bruce Banner, Iron Man and Ironheart, Laura Kinney and Logan, and many more of your favorite characters. “GENERATIONS unites the present day heroes of the Marvel Universe with their forbearers from the past in order to chart the course of the future!” says SVP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “These ten adventures are the stepping stones to everything that is to come for all of these characters!”

>The stories of GENERATIONS begin at the Vanishing Point, and these epic tales offer fans a direct bridge and prelude into the sense-shattering Marvel Legacy, as the challenges and revelations of GENERATIONS will alter the destinies of our heroes moving forward in a dramatic fashion!

>These heroic journeys all launch from the same point: the Vanishing Point! Coming to comic shops this August!

>>
>>93252004

>>
>>93251307
Marvel should just launch a new Ultimate line, with either proven talent from outside or a completely new creators.

It doesn't seem possible to dislodge the current bullpen from 616 and quality is really suffering because of that.
>>
For those wondering, Secret Wars was the perfect excuse for this reintroduction of characters.
So it's not so much a retcon but a reboot for Iron Fist, Black Panther and the rest.

And we finally get to see Agammotto do something, but expect quips on him and Oding losing their eyes.
>>
>>93251927
In some versions. Depending on who her parents are at any given point.

She and Pietro have been basically generic white Europeans for most of their history, which doesn't mean people don't adopt them as representation, just that Marvel doesn't get any representation points for using them.

Odin, according to Marvel history, did not come into existence until humans first conceived of gods. Only then did he, and all other gods, 'crystallize' out of the divine life force nascent to Earth.
The wheel was not invented until about 4000 years ago and horses were not domesticated until about 7000 years ago, so that Ghost Rider thing is by definition crap.
And the Black Panther... that should be fun, a Homo Ergaster shaman channeling a black leopard spirit.

I'm legit shocked it still hasn't happened. If you're going to have stupid shit like "I've killed many fathers, boy", Han, Leia and Chewie with Lightsabers, and other such stupid things, you might as well do Star Wars vs. Marvel.

The integrity of both franchise is pretty much gone to shit, so just make the most of it.

>>
>>93251307

All they needed to do, literally ALL they needed to do to win back retailer and customer confidence, was to make Legacy Marvel Rebirth. It's the only thing that can save the company now. Clean house with all the non-selling legacy heroes and bring back the true heroes that people want to see.

But as usual marvel just doesn't get it, they cook up a stupid gimmick where it looks like they're doing a Rebirth but instead it's a shitty timetravel story with no relevance and the same shitty creative teams that have been sinking the company like an albatross since the 00s now.

How can a company still be run by the same incompetent retards for over 10 years with no sign of improvement? How can they be SO BLIND that they don't understand what they're doing?

Which is ironic because Quesada taking over involved huge amounts of editorial and policy changes from the 90s. It's not even so much which characters have books (though I agree that trimming the fat there would help), as it is the same talentless writers and useless editors retaining their positions. In the editors' case you could at least say they're overworked and spread too thin. The current people in charge just have no fucking clue what they need to be doing, so flailing around and tossing out imitations of competitors' promotions isn't going to help at all.

Legacy isn't bringing back the characters we want. Legacy is bringing back the characters so they can pat the new characters on the back to show how great they are.

Eddie back as Venom is the equivalent of One More Day. 15 or 20 years of development for the symbiote down the drain so Marvel can pretend they're doing what the fans want. Where was this attitude 10 years ago? 5 years ago? But sure let's get Eddie teaming up with fucking Moon Girl. Because that's what the old school fans wanted all along.

Renew Your Vows is a half-assed attempt at fixing a broken heart. It's like someone ran over your dog and paid you 5 bucks as an apology. All of these things that Marvel is doing is merely surface level. All show, no substance, no sincerity.

This is the dumbest fucking shit. All the fans asked for is to give us stories with the characters we want and love. And instead they're essentially doubling down on what they've been doing and basically shoving a middle finger in the face of all their readers.

It's completely transparent what they're doing. Legacy is basically "You know all those heroes you love and thought were originals? Well they're legacies themselves! So embrace their replacements because it's really what's been happening since the beginning!" And Generations is clearly going to be what everyone is guessing in "Gee, I thought I was a good [insert superhero name] but you've awesome and it's great you're carrying the name now."

This is a complete insult to the fans who have stood by them hoping they'd turn shit around and actually give us what we want. This is Marvel spitting on your face telling you you're wrong and everything that they've been doing has been the right thing all along.

>>
>>93256946
The fishiest thing about this relaunch is that they are doing absolutely minimal advertising about it. They haven't promoted any future books or any clear direction or pictures.

Marvel Now followed a very awful Civil War II and a lot of books where people didn't care. This time, they are following Secret Wars which people flat out hate (yes, some people love it). It's very unclear what Legacy is, and what's worse? It's doing vague promises like "Almost every hero will be involved", which I KNOW is going to be bullshit.

Literally no one on this planet thought Marvel Legacy would be Marvel One Million B.C. because there is absolutely no reason to believe so.
And it wouldn't surprise me since Axel tried to say Generations was the original heroes coming back and that it wasn't some time travel where characters get zapped to the past. And then it turned out to be characters being zapped to the past to meet the characters!!! They probably planned the mini series before and later on decided to lie about the actual content to draw people in.

At this point you'd have to purge half of Marvel's staff to make me confident in them.
>>

This.
>>
>>93251342
No, I dig the idea, could be fun, but shamelessly tricking people into thinking this was some sort of Rebirth is what makes me giggle because at this point I can't get pissed off anymore at Marvel comics. It's just not worth it.
>>
>>93261388
>At this point you'd have to purge half of Marvel's staff to make me confident in them.

Pretty much this. I don't even want much from Marvel. Like four books

>A good Daredevil book
>A good Wolverine book
>A good Hulk book
>A good Cap book

Now, while I had one out of four (while I don't like the idea of Hydra Cap I still enjoyed the Hydra Cap ongoing) that has now ended with how much Spencer shat the bed in Secret Empire. I doubt I'll ever get a good Daredevil book again; it's possible but Marvel is currently so disconnected from the urban working poor that I doubt we'll get that anytime fucking soon.

A good Hulk book is doable as soon as sometime realises that bringing Hulk back from space was bad, and sends him off to be space Conan again (Father/son Space Conan with Skaar would be ideal). For Wolverine I just want good art and violence. The writing can be mediocre as far as I care. Just like lots of snikt, blood, and beer.
>>
>>93261492

Also, any one of these four will get me buying Marvel again even if it's just that book.

It's so fucking weird, when I first started reading comics you couldn't pay me to read DC, nowadays DC is all I'm picking up.

Technically true.
There have been a lot of Iron Fists, Phoenixes, Black Panthers, Star Brands, Sorcerer Supremes, and a fuck ton of Ghost Riders. Given Marvel's history, I'm guessing the Starbrand that's showing up isn't going to be from Earth, maybe it'll be a Kree one?
>>
>>93254413
They just doesn't care. Comics don't even sell that well overall and the merchandise is given as long as the MCU is around to make people throw money at Marvel branded stuff.

This shit is about ego, they're super pissed at fans, they truly thing they're in the right and that people who shit on them are a vocal minority in the internet. They don't care about sales, let alone quality, they just want to prove their ideas are the correct ones and will keep forcing their stupidity onto people until Disney shuts them out for good.

What can he really bring to the table? His best stories were with Starlin, including the one where he died and he hasn't really been used in any meaningful capacity. No one really cared when he showed up in Civil War and they decided to go with "Oh, that one was a Skrull".
