basically this - Tron Legacy didn't do great, but it did get people hyped about Disney doing sci-fi, and Uprising was a big part of Disney trying to build off of that.

... then Tomorrowland bombed and Disney bought up the rights to Star Wars and suddenly Tron and other original IPs weren't needed anymore.

Why work hard on nice things when you own a franchise that just shits money?

Too expensive for too little ratings among small boys.
Teens and young adults watched it a lot, but that wasn't the target audience.
All of that was compounded by the fact that Disney XD is a dead-end network nobody watches and then they started fucking with air dates and put it into impossible time slots and kept changing the air dates.
Noone who didn't immediately get hooked enough to look for the air dates themselves would've caught an episode of it by accident.

Basically it was the same mess as with every single other cartoon airing at the time (except Korra and Clone Wars, I guess). Motorcity was especially similar because it was caught on the same shitty network. Though thinking about it Motorcity probably had it even worse because Disney meddled a ton with that show.
Tron doesn't feel like there was any meddeling whatsoever.
