On one hand, the concept of body-snatching alien hive mind is a classic.
On the other, well he's a giant cartoon starfish with a bullseye right in the middle. He'd benefit from a bit of a redesign. You don't even need to drop the original concept, with all the freaky starfish that exist.

Personally, I didn't like it.
I mean I can understand that need to redisign the "main" guy like has been said earlier, but they should have at least kept him alien. Having it turn out that the "prime" unit all along was just another Space Conan sort of character seemed really low-effort to me.

I also don't like that it was done around the same time they did a sort of soft retcon to establish who the "real" Brainiac all along was. And they even did something similar with Toyman around the same time too.

Starro's not cute enough to do a plushie of. Maybe if they make a Teen Titans Go version of Justice League and make Starro a shittalking prankster kind of guy, then it could work. Starro as it is just has zero potential for merchandise.

Starro has always been a race. Even his first Gardner Fox silver age appearance has him tag team with another Starro. I think it would be great to see different varieties of Starro adapted to take over different races and planets.

Hero vs. hero has been done way too much recently and his inclusion would inherently make the story darker. I'd like Starro to show up down the line (and for him to actually be portrayed with a horror drenched, Lovecraftian tone) but now isn't the time for DC's movies, I think.

I like the character.
And I like some of different characters made from it (Starro the Conqueror or JL3000 cooperative Starro) instead of changing a perfectly fine basic Big Baddie. Made it so we can still have a good ol fashion Starro story or a more advance one without getting rid of older character.
