So /co/, I want to start reading spider-man (never have) what runs would you guys recommend? Where will I be able to find them?

Go with the Lee Ditko/Romita run

>Where will I be able to find them?
Local comics store
>>93242817
None close to me
>>93242812
Thanks, looking into it now

Skip everything that has Slott's name on it.
>>93242806
Just read Ultimate Spider-man.

Comixology. Boom. Done. Hell get a marvel unlimited account and just read em on their site.

Skip Everything that has Bendis's name on it
>>93243217
Nah, go read Ultimate Spider-Man
>>93243217
You fell for the /co/ meme?
Ultimate Spider-Man is good.
>>93243217
Ultimate Spider-Man is fine. Bendis doesn't start shitting the bed until later.
>>93243217
Ultimate Spider-man was actually good until the Ultimatum event.

Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man
Spidey
Spectacular Spider-Man is a mixed bag.
His original issues as well. Might be hard to stomach the older style but it's important if you want to have a solid understanding of the character beyond general knowledge.
His Civil War issues are good as well. He's one of the few characters that didn't go full retard.
Ultimate Spider-Man.
For other spider heroes, I would recommend:
Spider-Man 2099. The old one is fine but I mainly mean the more recent one.
Scarlet Spider.
The Edge of Spider-Verse stories (but NOT Spider-Verse itself).
Silk.
Ultimate Spider-Man right after it switches to Miles. I know /co/ shits on him a lot but early on he had a compelling story.

>edge of spiderverse
so pissed that all those oneshots had a ton of potential and none of them got followupsespecially SP//dr

Read Ultimate Spider-Man.
While Bendis deserves all the hate, it was not until later that he started believing his own hype. Ultimate Spider-Man (with the exception of Venom) is a really good read.
Ignore the idiots who hate on it and who have never read it. You will find a lot of those morons here. They hate something, yet they have yet to(or never have) watch or read it.
Just read JMS run
>>93242806
Yeah, USM is the best option to know the character without 50 years of retarded classic timeline.

>low standards
>>93244404
>t-they just never read it
>n-no one can ever dislike my shitty comic
You are the one who's an idiot, kid.

Seconding this.
Read Ditko's original run. Amazing Fantasy #15 + The Amazing Spider-Man #1 - 38 + Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1-2. The entire run is collected beautifully in full color in the first two Amazing Spider-Man Marvel Epic collections.
These are some of the best cape comics ever made and should be the first response when asking for Spider-Man every time.

Seconding these and I'd also recommend Roger Stern's and Marv Wolfman's runs. I'm not very fond of Conway, but people like it so give it a try.

>Scarlet Spider.
This one is awesome. Kaine is a great character under Yost's pen(and so is Aracely)[/Spoiler].
For easy access read Ultimate Spider-man.
For some vintage stories start where others said.
Also take a good look at Kraven's last hunt (follow up with Gauntlet and Grim Hunt)
The Remender's Venom series was also good.
Spider Island was actually nifty and deserves it's own read.
Kaine's Scarlet Spider was great and follows up from Island.

These and the story times we have here on /co/ can be a good place to start
