I don't really mind the first two at all. Aging characters usually aren't necessary at all unless it's one of a few zombie series where it would probably ruin the show.. An iconic look can be great and at the very least it's a cost-cutting measure that doesn't really harm a show.

The status quo, though, fuck that. I get that not every show needs or benefits from dynamic characters, not everything has to be some serial drama. But if your show needs to have a static cast with static personalities, don't fucking put them in situations where they should logically change somehow. If in an episode a character learns they're a father and has to drop some of the bullshit they do to be responsible for another human being, that might make the audience feel more sympathetic for that character... up until you try to undo everything by coming up with some stupid reason to return to the status quo. The more bullshit the excuse, the less the audience gives a fuck about your cast.

The worst sin is when a show tries to frame that return to the status quo as some sort of life lesson. "Oh, no, I can't be a dad for you because I'm just too zany. I'll always love you, kid." No, that's not a fucking life lesson, that's rationalizing being a deadbeat dad and all your writers are apparently fucking sociopaths.

Thinking of a series where in the first season, the main guy and main girl start off on the wrong foot. But over time, the main guy and main girl gets along better and better, until the season final, they realize and admit to eachother they are in love.
Over diffrent episode other girls were also constantly flirting with main guy but as he got closer to main girl, he was less and less okay with it.

Then suddenly...
>SHOW RENEWED FOR ANOTHER SEASON!
>Lets reverts characters back to how they were mid-season 1, but with a few entirely new traits.
Main guy and main girl don't really get along anymore for no reason, also main guy now has no problem flirting with every girl from before, even acting strangly pervy around them suddenly.
Second season ends with main guy and main girl again admitting they love eachother
