Hey guys, I am doing a dissertation and need some quotes from the general public. My question is 'Would it be a good thing if animation for all ages was more mainstream and socially acceptable.' Thank you.

I assume you mean 'animation that caters towards each age bracket' rather than 'all-ages' which is synonymous with g-rated stuff.

The biggest issue with the animation age ghetto isn't that you can't make cartoons with sex or violence be seen as acceptable, because people do it anyway with stuff like Superjail and Sausage Party. If anything those kinds of animations thrive on not being socially acceptable. What really stabs the industry in the foot is that it holds people back from making mature drama. The kinds of stories kids genuinely wouldn't get because they're too young to have lived through anything similar, but which are extremely hard-hitting and engaging for adults who understand the emotions of whats going on.

I mean just look at how much money movies like Zootopia or Moana or Captain Underpants makes compared to animation that isn't for all ages like Sausage Party.
