What went wrong?
I don't see anything wrong... giggity
You have a weird definition of "Wrong"
>>93220743
The only thing that looks wrong is Saturn Girl looks like a Star Sapphire.
>>93220977
Ironically Saturn Girl had the skimpy cut-outs look way before the Sapphires did. At the time this was happening in LOSH, Carol was still running around in a modest leotard.
>>93220977
Saturn Girl as a Star Sapphire? I'd be fine with that.
>>93220907
How can they give her a skimpier costume in the future and yet her face is drawn in a more attractive way in the old costume?
Because in many ways they used to treat women with more class and respect.
In the second one she's a piece of meat.
In the first one she's a woman.
>>93220743
too bad that she is returned to full-costume.
>lel more skin = better design!
jesus christ /co/
>>93220743
The Curt Swan one is far superior, because Curt Swan was superior. Best Superman artist of all time.
>>93220743
Mike Grell.
Anyways I've never really cared for the second costume, I feel like without the kidney windows it would be fine but as it is it's just kind of goofy. Most of SG's modern costumes are like the first one but minus the skirt which sadly is the best part.
>>93220743
Clearly nothing.
>>93220743
The 70's happened.
>>93220743
The 70s were a hell of a drug.
>>93223605
>>93223619
Why did 70s comics suck so bad?
>>93223605
THE GUN IS GOOD!
To be fair, we got this one for a while, which was a nice happy medium. Cute and modern without being a damn SI swimsuit model.
>>93223733
The opening 10 minutes of that film is so legendarily weird, that the rest of the film just feels like filler.
>>93223849
Think pink
>>93221271
>the standards of an oldfag
>>93223849
>>93223404
>>93221717
>>93221271
Hilarious how many people are puritans these days.
>>93224265
I'm no puritan anon, I have no problem with skimpy costumes, just that one, because it sucks. It's trying to be sexy and fails.
>>93220743
She got pregnet. With twins even. She stopped wearing the swimsuit after that.
>>93224265
Skimpy clothing only works when it fits the character. It works for Dream Girl, who is a bimbo. It works for Emma Frost, who is a bit of exhibitionist/dominatrix. It doesn't work for Irma, founder of the Legion of Super-Heroes and respected member of society.
>>93225148
It works when everyone is dressed in skimpy clothes, which they were in those days.
>>93225190
This. I miss lewd Cos.
Though I don't think Imra has ever had a bad costume in general.
>>93225148
>It works for Dream Girl, who is a bimbo.
Nice to see /co/ is staying the course and not reading comics.
>>93225256
To be fair the Reboot version of her was indeed a bimbo, but I don't know if he knows that.
>>93225272
That was literally the only time. Original, Threeboot and Retroboot Dreamy is not a bimbo.
>>93220743
>not enjoying the beautiful future
>>93224265
Skimpy only works if the woman wearing it uses her sexual allure as a part of her character. Putting women who don't use their sexuality as a part of their alter ego in revealing attire only demeans them.
Emma frost putting on white lingerie is fine, sticking a more modest woman in a similar outfit isn't.
>>93225531
>>93225256
>>93225272
She definitely comes across as bimbo in the Great Darkness Saga. Even her teammates think that when she announces her candidacy for LOSH leader by posing on the conference table and showing off her ass.
>>93224265
I'm not. Your new Batman costume, everyone.
>>93226323
>>93220743
Imra (v1) eventually abandoned the swimsuit and moved back to a more modern take (at the time) of her classic costume.
The bikini look just didn't work for the character who was increasingly coming across as the elder matron of the Legion.
>>93227331
And that's when the Legion started going to shit.
Absolutely nothing is wrong. It's a cute and sexy look which will forever be saturn girl's iconic one, regardless of how much prudes bitch.
>>93227686
Literally every adaptation of Saturn Girl uses either her original red look or her pink Reboot look. There are no adaptations that use the Grell costume.
>>93223849
This is my favorite Saturn Girl suit but I've almost never read any of the 90's Legion books. Should I go ahead and do that?
>>93228043
Sure, it starts out great and only kind of derails near the end.
>>93225148
Even good girls want to be seen as sexy sometimes.
>>93228236
This. Not something people on 4chan seems to understand.
>>93226323
From what I understand Levitz hated her, but a fan poll got to decide who should lead the Legion or something and fans voted for her.
>>93226323
She is a tease not a bimbo.
>>93227686
I don't think anyone bitches, everyone likes the 70s Legion but it's just not the dominant look and that's ok.
>>93228043
The 90s book is the worst version of her, so honestly I don't know if you should.
>>93229083
>The 90s book is the worst version of her, so honestly I don't know if you should.
I'll clarify this by saying if you're only reading for her then it's iffy but overall it's fine.
>>93227686
Kek. The Cosmic Corset is more iconic.
>>93229083
>>93229140
90s Imra was kind of a bitch in the love triangle story, yeah.
