Come to think of it, I really hope Ashley will expand on the other countries on Kasslyne.
As of now, only Cresce (how do you pronounce it? 'Cres-ke' or 'Cresse'?) and Alderode are of any importance, with Sharteshane having a minor role in comparison.

The only other country that we saw is Ulestry. Which only really served as a vehicle to introduce Cresce, both as how odd the culture is and for Duane's meltdown when he finds out where he is. We never really expanded on it except for them being the pacifist bitch of Cresce. The wiki got some info, but I don't recall any of it being said in the comic.

I think we're gonna see some crazy pymary shit within the next few pages. Remember, when Bastion was being all flirty with the silver haired lady she mentioned his breath was cold. Though him being a jet might put that theory to pot, unless hes worked out how to extend his pymary range.

That's not really uncommon for high fantasy stories. The author usually creates tons of stuff for background flavor, might even have whole histories written up for everything, but the actual story only skims the surface and mentions stuff only in passing. If you're lucky the author publishes a kind of bible or encyclopedia that goes into detail about everything, if not then you're just left wondering.

No. Ashley nuked them and very little of it survives. The world of Unsounded has had multiple incarnations. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole shebang was planned out way before Duane punched that Jet in the face. "Best wright in centuries" was probably just a cover for killing the only Ssaelit with a modicum of restraint. No way they'd have brought him to court, or whatever that Ssaelit council was without knowing he was a goody twoshoes. Read the page just there. Bastion was definitely involved in Duane's assassination, and it's STRONGLY implied Lemuel was involved or knew it was gonna happen. Bastion has had bad encounters with other members of Duane's family - implicitly, Lemuel, who we know fucking hates Black Tongues.

My guess is that Duane was given an opportunity to get on board with the nasty-ass scheme to spread the plague among Gefendur Aldish, which he very obviously rejected, so his fellow Ssael decided to turn him into a fake martyr. Lemuel knew this was going to happen and did nothing for reasons (Zealotry? A belief in the plague scheme? Wanting to nut in Duane's wife?). Later, Lemuel found out Duane hadn't just been killed (bad enough) but turned into a damned monster, and tried to kill Bastion for it.

Yeah it's a pretty simple bit of pymary, all you have to do is take a Core Aspect, something that causes the Khert to throw up an error like their Solidity or something and then the Khert will just delete them.

It's not used because you still have to try and connect with it along a Khert line so the opponent has a chance to react and you have to speak what you're casting (Duane and other tacit casters excluded, though they are vanishingly rare). This means someone will hear what you're doing, be able to react to it, and now knows death is on the table. Most duelists aren't gonna do it. On top of that, it's turbo illegal and able to be tracked in the Khert hubs when it's done on living human flesh since it's illegal pymary. Very high chance of getting tracked down. It also has the propensity of bouncing back on the caster depending on how big of a thing you're trying to Core Leech. Core Leech a pebble, that's fine, but anything bigger and the Khert may delete the caster instead of the target for sake of ease. It's much easier to delete the offending caster than an entire house for example.

Now, if you look at situations where shit has gone down, people do break out of the Core Leech when it's warranted, but even Duane wasn't able to one-hit-quite the Silver Beast because it detached the part that was being Core Leeched.

I asked Ashley that once and she said it's a pastiche of the ridiculous names in Dickens novels. Sharteshane is like Dickensian London with its poverty and street urchins. But instead of Martin Chuzzlewit or Artful Dodger you have Knock-Me-Down Frummagem and Darkest Paul.

Well they really did if they died. You know originally I was like "Pshaw, no way they're dead" and wouldn't have wanted them to be but honestly, if they are I think that was a bold story decision and some good balls on Ashley's part to not be afraid to cut a thread short. We knew enough about them for that not to feel unsatisfying, they had small victories and they went out on their own terms. War is hell.
