So, I know nothing of this series or what it's based from.

However, I once read a short story where a zombie ate the brain of a Miss Marple type woman (He even refers to her as such) and now winds up solving mysteries while she more or less insults his intelligence in his subconscious.

Is this anything like that? Because I found that story amusing.

I've also seen an audiobook for a similar set up called 'Dan Shamble: Zombie P.I."

In the comic the zombie girl is a graveyard digger iirc and simply helps tie up some loose ends in dead people's lives. In the show she works as a medical examiner and helps the police solve their murders.

But both the comic and the show are more about how the zombies (and in the comic, other supernatural creatures) exist in the real world. The visions are just the hook to get you into it.
