Let them. Despite the mans politics and hate honer for Tolkien overshadowing everything that came before and during his time. he's still a fun writer with great ideas. He wouldn't have been ripped off so much if he didn't have merit.

It's not like he's Orson Scott Card.

Man I recently read this and couldn't stand that comic. It got a lot of the sado-masochistic elements and alienness right but Elric was so out of character. I much prefer the old 80s one with all its gaudy goodness.

Damn straight there needs to be.

But i gotta agree and disagree with you on the new comic.
This Elric isn't the Elric we know but i don't think it's intended to be. Volume 3 is hopefully, when we see his personality start to change when he interacts with humans he genuinely likes.
Don't forget that he did end up marrying Zarozinia and that wouldn't fly with the Elric we see in this version.

So we just need to wait and see what happens.

Yeah I recently read the books and I think having that fresh in my mind, the more direct adaption is something I'm much more into.

The art in this new one is damn beautiful though, once you wipe away the sepia a bit.

Moorcock said the new comic is how he would have done it and the most accurate. But yeah I question that.. we will just to have to see what happens like you said.

Its just nice to see more work come out featuring Elric.

Really gotta do the Balance Lost at some stage. I think it kinda sucks and gets alot of stuff wrong in terms of the canon, but it's a good entry way into the world of Blood.
