It's not the quality of the video. It's the quality of the actual animation. The way the characters move and things interact feel a little bit stiff. Facial expressions don't change for long periods of time.
There seems to be a lot of corner cutting with how the animation is done.
Again though, not that I personally give a shit. I love the show either way and will watch it in storyboard form if I have to.

She won't follow him to Mewni. If she does, she won't be staying long. Marco didn't make time for her before, and doesn't have time for her now. I wouldn't blame her if she's tired of waiting for him.

On the other hand, Marco has dimensional scissors. He can go after Star, and he can go back to Earth at any time. It's possible that Jackie accepts and supports Marco's decision to help his -best friend- and they don't break up.
I think that's a wasted opportunity though. It means a lot more for Marco and Jackie if they split up over this. Jackie gets a chance to show some independence as a character, Marco loses the girl of his dreams because he was playing things too safe in their relationship and learns a lesson. Conflict is the best way for characters to develop and grow. Besides, Jackie becoming Marco's long-distance girlfriend out of the action just regulates her back to the same role she had in Season 1, just a stopping block for Starco. Or even worse, since that situation is primed for nasty drama if anything at all happens between Star and Marco while he's still "dating" Jackie.

That all said, even if they break up, there's no reason for Jackie to be written out. Mewni is the new primary setting, but I'm sure there will still be some Earth episodes. I'm also sure that she'll get retooled in some way, somehow, to be relevant to the greater plot, but that's a longer way off.

A big takeaway from the new intro is that Marco's room has apparently been magic'd into Butterfly Castle, so he's definitely living on Mewni. Doesn't bode well for Jarco.

How long did Tom and Star date?

Star is 14 so she couldn't possibly have dated him too long but he's so obsessed with her that it implies they dated awhile. He likely started the life training after they broke up, so it probably happened at least three months, if not more, before the start of the show if he was able to proclaim he fixed his anger for a consistent 53 days.

Was it like a realistic 11-13 year old relationship where it lasted a few days to week and was just them doing cutesy shit or more like what Marco and Jackie are like now?

The best part of the old intro is when the song really kicks in and they start jumping through dimensional portals in time with the music. Very fluid, energetic, exciting.
The same portion in the new intro isn't coordinated with the music at all, just Star and Marco running in the very dull and mundane Goblin Dogs dimension alongside Kelly and Mina. It's probably the weakest part of the intro, over five seconds of nothing really going on.
The worst part is that Star's face is near-static for almost ten seconds during this time, just looking forward and smiling the whole time. It's even more egregious because Marco is constantly reacting to the things around them the whole time, throughout the whole intro.

I think another thing that hurts it is that all of the locations they're going to are recognizable to us by now, which just makes it seem even more disjointed.
