It's funny when you consider how shittily done the first movie was because they had to rush like crazy to get it in some sort of screening shape, due to all the constant rewrites. Like it was a huge trainwreck and they were still writing shit and composing songs in around June, with the movie coming out in November.

And then, boom, most successful animated movie ever. Crazy cultural juggernaut. Merch sales bust through their wildest dreams. What the hell.

I'm a bit worried they focus too much on "recreating the magic" and end up just imitating the first movie, but then again it's just a featurette, I hope hope hope the sequel will actually have a proper standalone plot.

I think there's a lot to do with Frozen. Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Hans could all be developed further, their backstory expanded, Elsa and Anna could develop their relationship to each other and the kingdom (there has to be a lot of unaddressed issues there between them after everything that's happened, some resentment, Elsa at least is still wrecked with guilt over everything I mean she put a cake topper of herself mourning frozen-to-death Anna on her bday cake to represent what she means to her ffs) and Elsa especially has a shitload of development to go through.

She needs to deal with all the fear, the guilt, she needs to learn to rule and step out of her shell, she needs to stop being completely dependant on Anna for all her fucking social needs (she has no other friends or family) and she needs to grow into her own and find a husband.

Nah, Frozen looked like shit already when it was made because it was such a rushed clusterfuck. They were rewriting shit and composing songs still in June, when the movie release date was in November. That's fucking insane, and as a result they didn't have the time to do it properly.
