For me, it's because of his beginnings. He had a really bad introduction, like Silk, and first impressions are really important. Miles only existed because Peter had to die, when things were going good for him no less, and then there was the explosion of FINALLY there's a BLACK Spider-Man, which was pretty unnecessary. He was a replacement and, as a protagonist, it's like watching a popular show for years, liking it, then suddenly the main character is just replaced. It's still called 'Spider-Man', but Miles isn't Spider-Man, he's Miles.

At least, that's my opinion. I never agreed with the 'i could be anyone behind the mask'. SPider-Man is Peter, Superman is Clark. It's why they call Agent Venom 'Agent Venom' and Kaine 'Kaine' more than Scarlet Spider. The originals just don't get replaced - nor should they. They're classics for a reason.

I'm not bothered by the gameplay swiped from Arkham. If anything, I always thought the Arkham gameplay would have been a much better fit for Spider-Man than Batman.
The QTEs are shit but the web-slinging looks pretty cool and that's the most I could ask for in a Spider-Man game.
