Their new Transformers & Micronauts shows might end up on Netflix. Netflix REALLY wants Transformers. Way more than Cartoon Network does right now.
The tone is going to be older than the current Transformers Robots in Disguise. Closer to the Netflix Voltron. That's the show they're really trying to staff right now. They are better suited for Rescue Bots Academy than a proper Transformers show and they're really trying not to fuck it up and have fans hate them. LOL.
Hasbro owns Boulder Media now and they were trying to go cheap, but Netflix is willing to foot a big chunk of the bill if they do it right.
Boulder has been working on something close to the same art style as the original cartoon (just with modern designs). The short sample they've done made Netflix pretty wet. Hasbro wasn't sure this was the right direct until they saw how everyone reacted to the sample animation. They used the BGM from the original show as well, which really added something to the whole experience. Cartoons just don't have BGM anymore, so it really stood out.
