I'm mad because the comic got so much better and easier to follow after the reboot, but a lot of people didn't even give it a chance. There was a great balance between the elements from the games, satam and original stuff; a lot of interesting new characters and new takes on old characters; and storylines that left you wanting more. It was done with care and effort and will be hard to ever replicate.
I'm still surprised by how sympathetic they made Eclipse for example, a character that had every right to be awkard and cringy.
I guess the damage was already done regardless. That second crossover with Capcom seems to have made more harm than good too.

Here's the thing It wasn't vengance, it was actually way dumber.

He honestly believed that if he did this Archie'd pay him royalties for using his characters because he is so delusional that he geniully believes that he and his OCs are the reason the comic was ever popular (He doesn't even recognize because its maybe because its a comicbook about a well-known videogame series).

However, he didn't expect Archie simply rebooting the comic and dropping his character altogether after the settlement they did. Since they still ahd to release archives of the old stuff, however, Penders continued to bother and got some other artists that worked in the comic before to try the same shit to squeeze some extra cash out of Archie, but thatw as the thing that broke SEGA's patience.

As such, they were intending in rising the cost for the copyright and Archie, specially since the current head of Archie only cares about Archie and never cared for Sonic (He grew up with Archie as a kid and since now Archie is popular now, he doesn't give a fuck that sonic basically held the company afloat for a long time.) so while they say they are "at talks" its really clearly Archie is tyring to look to either get a better deal or just drop Sonic forever.

Nah, that was just Sega mandates after the whole Penders thing, another mandate was that all Sonic game characters are not allowed to be in a relationship nor show interest in one (Amy can still pine on Sonic but that's about it). There's also the mandate that all Sonic game characters are not allowed to have family members (except Cream since her mom is from the games as well) thus this means that Uncle Chuck is just in name only, no blood ties between him and Sonic anymore.
