Why did the King of Wakanda build a WALL to keep out other races? I thought the new movie was about tolerance and acceptance?
It's about nationality not races. But discussing isolationism as an idea is kind of the point of the character.

The simple answer is that they're isolationist and xenophobic.
They view everyone else regardless of race as mongrels.
