My favorite will always be Plo Koon's electric judgement. While it's not itself a crazy Force power since it's just lightning, it only happened because someone saw him use it in an expressly non-canon game (Jedi Power Battles, which is literally just the events of Episode 1 but with a team of five Jedi instead of just Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan) and didn't realize the game wasn't meant to be taken literally. The fact that Plo had it caused a bit of a snowball since it became justification for Luke and other Jedi in the post-ROTJ era to have it.

So the entire reason Luke Skywalker could use lightning was because someone once took a video game too seriously.

As for your questions, I am cautiously optimistic. They're going to talk about the class and customization system, as well as Clone Wars content, which are two of the biggest selling points to me. What they show will probably settle whether I buy it or not.

Monkey's paw on the microtransactions. Map updates will indeed be free, but the microtransactions will be pay2win tier. Barebones content when looking at era-to-era because they couldn't fit enough in to make all 3 era's feel complete.

They can never be redeemed for their abysmal last game, but I do think BF2 has a shot at being a more complete experience closer to what people were wanting back in 2015.

I agree, but I do think you can get around this to a certain extent by saying that different Sith specialized in different areas.

Like, Sidious was a master politician, Plagueis was good with midi-chlorians, Tenebrous was a scientist, and so on. So, you could argue that each one had areas of expertise in which they could do amazing things that even their successors could not do.

That only accounts for so much. Obviously, when you've got Sith sucking the life out of entire planets and creating wormholes out of nothing, it kind of begs the question what was the point in even creating an Empire if you're all so OP to begin with.

Even if different clone troopers in TCW sounded a little different, in the end they were still all voiced by Baker. Temuera is the only real voice for Jango/Boba, but Dee Bradley is the definitive Clone voice. He voiced them for an entire tv show where they were often the main characters.

In the old Battlefront 2, there was a VERY close quarter map called Polis Massa (based on the asteroid Padmé gave birth on)

At the center of the map would be two command posts on either side of two very tight corridors. These were mandatory objectives to capture if you wanted to win.

However due to the nature of everybody spawning with 2 grenades, and ammo droids being right in that location, the corridors and connecting rooms would be consistently full of explosions and flying bodies for the entire game.

If you managed to spawn in as a Hero character (Yoda/Maul for that map) you could literally blaze through the corridors and get a dozen kills within seconds because it was a constant clusterfuck of entire teams being crammed into the corridors, and trying to blow each other up.

Often, the games would only end when spawn counters depleted, because actually capturing those command points was so difficult

The ones you mentioned are basically the safest and most likely bets.

I'm going to make a bold claim and suggest that certain planets will only be available via space battles, and these will be Coruscant and Scariff, along with a few from the single player. I can see the space battles being a thing for sure, but them skipping these planets for ground maps. They JUST did RO DLC and they did everything they could have done for the ground map, and Coruscant seems like it's not only beyond Dice, but potentially a waste considering we already have Naboo and Iden's homeworld for the urban environments. MAYBE Bespin too, but I doubt it.

Throw in Iden's homeworld as a 5th OT map, and another single player location for a ST map. Jakku will also have OT and ST maps.

As for the extra Clone Wars map, its very tricky. It could honestly be any of the ones you mentioned, or a wildcard from TCW. I think we've seen more than enough TCW influence and creative liberty from Dice that they could pick Crystophsis over Mygeeto and nobody would be alarmed about it.

As much as I like vehicles just sitting there ready to jump in, I don't think it's the best system.

I haven't played too many FPS games with vehicles, but in my experience it just becomes a race at the beginning of the match to get into a vehicle and afterwards tends to be subject to people waiting around the spawn area doing nothing until a vehicle spawns. Using points actually forces players to do stuff if they want to drive a tank.

Why does everyone underestimate this game at such an extreme? Of course the game will have Obi-Wan, Grevious, Geonosis, and more planets than the ones shown in the trailer. There's no way this game will just have stuff from Episode 1 and a single scene of Episode 2 while completely ignoring Episode 3. I get that the first game was really shit but every time they show tons of new shit for the game that is surprising (who would expect they would have Maz' intact castle which only appeared in one non action scene or the speeder scene from TFA that was cut from the movie) people just say "Oh so they confirmed without a doubt that you can't play as Anakin Skywalker in this game because in the 30 second teaser they never showed him? Oh ok..... :("

Most important of all, did anyone happen to figure out who is voicing Maul from the few lines he spoke during the gameplay?

I bought Battlefront 2015, you should need no more explanation than that.

I'm not expecting ANYTHING more than what they've shown, because that's pretty much all we got last time. The vast majority of the last game was known by E3 2015.

I'm not falling for it again. I'm hyped by (most) of what I have seen so far, but there is also plenty of content worryingly absent, and I am not going to delude myself for a second into assuming that Greivous is in this game until I see it with my own eyes.

Sam already voiced Sheev in the game, and they got TCW VA's for the Clones and droids, so it seems pretty obvious to me that they'd use Witwer for Maul.

You're ignoring that the first game was rushed like fucking crazy (I think they only had like 6 months to produce a game) because EA forced them to release it before TFA. This game has been in development likely since they began working on Battlefront 1 so it will very likely have at the very least Grevious, Obi-Wan, Geonosis, and a few other planets.

Even TFA had some good stuff in it (Finn, Kylo, the fighter scenes on Jakku and Takadona) amidst the rehash wank. No Star Wars film is 100% bad imo.

We probably haven't seen every last ground map yet - plus we've barely seen anything fighter squadron wise so far.
Plus there's still room for post-release content.
