The author doesn't seem like the unhinged sort who you usually see slapping those kinds of terms on their character profiles, and the comic doesn't really beat the reader over the head with any social commentary. They seem to have an enterprising streak, so it's possible they just peppered those Tumblr buzzwords because they knew it would draw in added attention, and possibly some extra revenue, but I'm not really sure.
