I see no problem with this, all three characters are nice and polite, a problem is shown and a solution is addressed, all parties are in agreement.

Jokes aside, was it really necessary to portray black people like this at the time? This is WWII era, wasn't this shit a little bit taboo at the time? I thought minstrel stuff was early 20th century. I'm honestly curious, I don't know if the writers are just racist, or this was the humour at the time, or if this was just the stock black character archetype

Yeah, it was just fucking stupid that film was. IIRC the guy made it so that his black friends could have jobs in hollywood (since I think it was they who voiced all the characters and what not) but it was just goofy and dumb to modern sensibilities. Not to mention the portrayal of the Japanese.
