So are the Venom plans going to fall through again? They've been talking about making a Venom movie for like ten years now and it hasn't happened yet.

They got Tom Hardy and a director, but an October 2018 release? Something seems really fishy about this. Almost like they are rushing it into production.

Yeah... I'm gonna guess almost all of the effects budget is going to go into the symbiote. I imagine it'll look less like a superhero movie and more like a typical horror movie
A lower budget and an R rating worked for Logan, not so sure about this...
I just don't know enough about it yet to even form an opinion, how is it going to relate to Spider-Man? Is it at all? Is it going to be a villain story or an anti hero story? What is it going to take influence from?
These are all questions I need answered before I can even begin to make anything of it, but I'm not exactly confident in it

They probably had a script ready to go for a long ass time. Getting Tom Hardy on board will really push the shit through.

It's not part of the MCU so it doesn't involve Holland's Spider-Man.

>MCU
>Venom
>Animated Miles movie
We're really going to have 3 theatrical Spider universes at once? Jesus. I love Spidey, but this sounds like a bit much, especially so soon after ASM.
Isn't it also coming out in the same month (of the same year) as their Black Cat/Silverwhatever movie?
How is that a good idea?

That's what most of us is hoping for. The current venom plans are bad because it is being made for bad reasons; because Sony Picture executives are trying to prove they are not incompetent idiots who need the MCU to make money.
