This movie was great and all, but I had kind of a different idea of what the animation and art style would be like than how it turned out.

It's just like the box says, it looked like a generic family movie because it was a generic family movie. I didn't go see it because I'm not under the age of 12/ have children, but man what a good cover art that was wasted on this.

It looks like it's just trying really hard to imitate a classic 80s movie and the hand drawn vhs covers that typically went with them. Which, yeah, I do wish more films would do because those covers and posters were great, just saying they seem to be doing it for a very specific reason.
Oh and before anyone gets the wrong idea, pic not related to the OP. Just illustrating a point. This movie is just about as good as its cover, in this case.
