In 2002, Cartoon Network decided to premiere a show that mimicked the artwork of the now iconic School House Rock, Which was "Whatever happened to Robot Jones." Unfortunately, the show never found it's market and for the large part forgotten.
Now the question is, Why was it cancelled, was it simply because their was never a core audience, bad timing, overinflation? For example of what I am talking about I give you the pilot episode of "Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?"

I've watched it because I vaguely remembered it as a kid and it had this odd mystique for being played so little.
It just didn't really fit in with the early 00s slate of cartoons with its 70s aesthetic. The school felt like a caricature of a real school with no escapist elements--Robot is too annoying to be likable, but at the same time he's shit on so much that you can't help but feel sorry for him, like the world around him is too generic and stupid to be able to hurt him as much as it does. It has this really weird, wistfully introspective vibe I genuinely don't think it was going for.
But for kids watching it that probably just amounts to it being forgettable.
