They actually did an animated version of The video game version of dantes inferno. and its not bad it was made by a couple of different animators taking charge of a different sections of hell also has mark hamil.

But it would be great too see an animated version of the original story or something like the old italian movie version. hell im seriously surprised there hasnt been a brand new live action movie adaptation of the inferno come out yet

I thought that version of Dante's Inferno was horrendous myself. It missed so much of the nuance, which cannot be appreciated by Inferno alone.

That album is a GOAT masterpiece.
Too bad animation is pretty much dead, a proper animated adaptation will probably never happen.

The best War of the Worlds adaptations are both audio based.

The martians constructed weapons on the fly, including chemical weapons and aircraft, a plot point that many adaptations miss due to "muh Tripods"; they adapted much like the Borg, which is what gave the bacteria twist it's weight.

That was one of the cool aspects of the book, seeing the Martians overcome any of the puny shit used against them.
