Steve Trevor one shot, and Justice League fill-in really make me wish done-in-ones were still a thing. It's like, comics are monthly, and this means we as customers are waiting a month each time to pay for a piece of a story, rather than getting a complete story every month.

Don't give me that shit, the result is the same. As things are now, you are still typically waiting up to half a year for a whole story. And while in theory, decompression is meant to give more room with which to enrich the story, in practice it still plays out like a single issue needlessly stretched out. So the way I see it, it's better we go back to single issues actually being singular. Overarching plots, sure, but episodic formatting is the way to go.
