The ST was a mistake. Luke redeeming Anakin and Anakin bringin balance to the Force by killing Sheev should have remained the ultimate end to Star Wars.

The new movies should have been set before the prequels or between the PT and OT.

TFA lived off the hype around the OT actors. Take that hype away and all that remains is a soulless hollywood blockbuster with a terrible script.

it seems prety clear to me that LSG had no real influence in the production of TFA because Abrams made sure that his production company was involved as well as Lucasfilm. That stupid hack even demanded that the podracer flags at Maz's castle be removed.

This was not the case with R1 (see all of the links with TCW and rebels, chopper on set, Pablo's book, etc. etc. etc.) and TLJ (Johnson set up camp in an office a couple doors down from the LSG at Lucasfilm for several weeks when writing)

Sheev still has his lightsaber.

They found Yoda's lightsaber, and cremated it along with every other lightsaber they plucked off dead Jedi killed in the Temple in a very public cemerony. But because the Kyber crystals inside were still alive, the resultant fire grows out of control and nearly scorches Mas Amedda and a couple of clone troopers.

They confirm again that Sith lightsaber crystals are red because they use the Dark Side to dominate the crystal, pouring so much pain into it until the agony of it "bleeds" a beautiful crimson.

Because the lightsaber of a Sith is taken, rather than given, Vader has been sent on a quest to relieve a hiding Jedi of their kyber crystal for his own purposes.

Sheev had left a ship for Vader only for it to have been coincidentally stolen. Truly, a lawless galaxy.

All of the CG X-wing models built for R1 have either blue or red markings. Well logically, the Rebellion would have been at it's height between ANH and ESB. They just showed that they have a chance, they destroyed a huge, powerful superweapon, and showed that the unhappy planets could band together and have a chance.

Then the head is essentially cut off the serpent at Hoth, a demoralizing blow not only in scope of losses but "invincible" heroes like that badass smuggler getting killed (appears to be, anyway) and OP Luke "saber every imperial" Skywalker was summeraly beaten by the dread pirate Vader.

A lot of people probably withdrew their support between ESB and ROTJ, and when time for Endorses came it was probably another situation like Scarif, where some people where iffy about joining them. With the increase in tension with the Emperor himself supposedly at the DS-II, it probably swayed a little more people into action.

Then afterwards it was clear they had a fighting chance and support came pouring in for them, compared to before.

If I remember the story right, Edwards was pouring over old cut footage they found while he was visiting the ranch, and found it. He thought it was in good enough shape to use, so he did.

It made the movie for me when I saw it in theatre.

The Sith care so much about life that they want to dominate it to the point of becoming the masters of its very energy. So the bleeding crystals makes infinitely more sense than synthetic crystals in the context that it actually fits thematically with the Sith's raison d'etre.

To be fair this comic is set right as the Empire is changing the aesthetics of all it's Clone Wars era equipment to better fit what you see in the OT. From other material we know the core worlds changed their equipment almost instantaneously so it's likely Vader would receive any new version or prototype of that ship right after ROTS.

I thought the previous canon was that you could harvest any color from naturally occurring crystals, but if you grow one artificially in a lab, you get a red one.
Which had a secondary advantage which I can't recall a source on that red had some sort of wavelength intensity which had a small chance of just completely overpowering and breaking through the guard of other color beams.
So, a more powerful weapon that's easier to create. And just happens to be an emotional spectrum color that matches hate, fire and violence.

Lightsabers are literally just blaster bolts held into a blade by a force field. Synthetic crystals exist. Most blasters don't use kyber crystals. Lightsabers that use synthetic crystals are very likely possible in canon but they're just not used by Sith anymore. It wouldn't surprise me if someone around the time of TFA tried to fuck around and make a fake lightsaber using cheap synthetic crystals instead of expensive kyber crystals and then sell it on the black market.
