So? Why should a character have to appeal to everyone? If you try to make a character appeal to everyone you run the risk of making the character less defined and more boring as a result. And you sorta illustrated the problem with Babs. As Batgirl, she doesn't really have that much of a defined personality like Cass does. BabsBat is for "everyone" in the same way that Tim Drake as Robin is for "everyone". An inoffensive blank slate that also allows people to easily self-insert if they so please.
