I figured the show had potential to actually be good but I eventually got fed up with it and dropped it when season 4 started. I feel the show in general is about two or three steps away from being good but it simply isn't written well enough to be.

I unironically like it even if it's not the best written show. Heck, even if the animation quality has been decreasing.

One thing I legitimately don't like is how much the characters cry in the series. This is not me being an edgy faggot, I don't mind seeing tears. But when 2/3rds of the episodes contain tears, scenes that are meant to be incredibly potent and sad don't pack the same punch as they would have made if the show featured the characters barely crying. Lars fucking dying should have made me feel for Steven, who was bawling his eyes out for good reason, but he cries as hard over less important shit, so the emotional impact is lesser.
