Each one has a different plot. WHY does Bowser always take Peach, and whatever his motivation for doing so is, can it be transferred to some other objective?

Like does he want to rule the Mushroom Kingdom? He doesn't necessarily need Peach for that, he just needs her gone

Is he in love with her? He can do other shit to try and force her to come to her willingly, like the whole "turn everyone into stone" ploy

Well, you've got to make the simple plot pretty engaging.

Bowser's reasons for kidnapping Peach vary: Sometimes he wants her kingdom, other times he's in love with her, general it's assumed that it's both. Outside of Sunshine, Bowser hasn't really kidnapped Peach, specifically for Junior to have a mother, while Junior himself switches between wanting a mom and wanting his dad to be proud of him.

In my mind, the Mushroom Kingdom is ruled by King Toadstool. King Toadstool is currently off in a faraway land with an army, so all the Toads still at home are very much meek individuals. Princess Peach is ruling in the King's absence & is under the guidance of her steward, Toadsworth. Princess Peach is inexperienced in running a kingdom, & Toadsworth, being a Toad, is meek by biology, so she isn't pushed in her position. So Princess Peach is a delicate individual unsure of her decisions & ability to rule. She doesn't want to rock the boat by taking any major action.

From Bowsers point of view, why he loves Peach so much, how he arranges everything in his castle to Peach's liking or what he thinks she may like, doing a bit like Oceans Eleven where he gathers people to come up with a plan to kidnap her, execute plan, plan sucks so after an elaborate display of skills by everyone he just says fuck it, breaks the window and just takes her and run.
Then you have his crew put all kinds of obstacles through different places to make Marios job harder. It all ends with him getting a sympathy kiss from Peach. and after Peach is saved he receives a letter from Peach telling him that he is great and that there are other princesses who would be happy to be kidnapped by him

It's definitely just the eyes. She looks downright adorable with black pupils.

Start out with a fight with Donkey Kong in New York. Then the brothers deal with some shellcreepers in the sewers. They go through a green pipe and enter the Mushroom Kingdom. The princess has already been kidnapped, and the mushroom people have been transformed by Bowser's magic, except for a few. They go on a journey blah blah brotherly love blah blah Bowser sends an army, Mario gets star power. Bowser defeated, brothers decide to stay. The end.

Simple stuff, simple, simple shit- I'm literally just going to copy the first Paper Mario as it was basically written like a movie:

-The plumbers Mario & Luigi are at their home idling around- playing games, doing chores, etc.. They get a letter in the mail via flying koopa and Luigi reads it out (mario is completely silent throughout the film besides wahoos, wahees, mama mias, etc), saying princess peach has invited them over for cake or to fix the castles plumbing, etc..

-Mario & Luigi go through toad town on their way to the castle and the intro credits roll while we get a good look at toad/mario world's society: toads toading, koopas koopaing, goombas goomping, etc.. All them wacky mario characters living in peace n' harmony.

-The brothers finally make it to the castle and they fix the plumbing, eat some cake, talk about how many times peach has been rescued, luigi gets embarassed, mario gets a kiss, etc.. etc.. HOLY SHIT BOWSER. HE MESSES EVERYTHING UP. AND HE'S ACTUALLY SCARY- HE'S GOT AAALLL THE FUCKING 3D'S DIMENSIONS PIXELS GRAPHICS OOOHNOOO. Bowser kidnaps princess peach, Princess screams, "Maaahreeeeooo! Luuuuuigiii!" and the screen does that looney tunes circle pan out thingy. End intro.

-At the end of each act they'll be a 'meta' moment where it's shown this is being displayed at a theatre with a live mario-world audience. They comment, make the funny jokes, etc.

-The rest of the movie is basically 3-4 acts of going through various worlds, beating up Bowser's minions: the koopalings, Bam Bam, Pom Pom, and knocking down castles. Mario & Luigi get all sorts of wacky power ups as well as the help of Yoshi and Toad. Basically fixing all the problems Bowsers done on his way to kidnap peach- helping people, etc.

-Meanwhile the 2nd plot point or whatever is the relationship between Bowser, Bowser Jr, and their captive Peach. Bowser made it clear he captured Peach to control the mushroom kingdom, but it becomes more obvious as their relationship develops that Bowser is a good man (koopa) and loves Peach- seeing her as an excellent mother for his child.
-This shit plays out exactly like beauty and the beast: Peach trying to get through Bowser via his heart, but things get muddled because she sympathizes with Bowser "The Father", etc.. In between baking cakes for shyguys and trying to escape.

-Everything falls apart though eventually when the Mario Bros almost rescues Peach and Bowser is furious. Audience & Peach is reminded how scary Bowser actually is when he 'nearly' defeats the Mario bros, but does the typical villian, "toss them into a pit and forget about them" after an extremely visually impressive battle. Bowser flies away in his fucking clown car.

-Mario & Luigi pick themselves up, have a speech about the "power of friendship, plumbers don't quit, etc" before finding themselves a warp pipe to Bowser's final land and take the fight directly to him.

-At this point Bowser Jr is conflicted: he likes "mama peach", but doesn't want to disappoint his father, but knows keeping her captive is wrong. Eventually assist her in escaping.

-Bowser is alone in his castle and is fucking furious: Jr's run off Peach, Mario Bros are knocking on his doorstep, and he can't handle it- he runs out to meet them while they're still on the mote and fights them ala Super Mario 1 style. Luigi accidentally cuts the bridge, grabs mario, bowser falls into the lava and we all think he's dead.

-Bowser Jr fights with the mario bros because he thinks they killed his dad, but peach talks him out of it.

-Bowser however ISN'T dead and he breaks open the castle godzilla sized and pissed beyond reasoning now: he's gonna kill mario and green guy, spank the shit out of Jr, and put Peach in a cage. He manages to beat the Mario Bros black and blue- even manages to beat Yoshi, Toad, and anyone else who helped.

-All seems lost, but then the mario world audience throws power ups, prayers, likes, whatever is PC these days to help the Mario Bros recover health and the power to beat up Bowser.

-Bowser is defeated, but Peach intervenes and begs the bros to leave him be- Luigi sides with peach and mario lets up. They leave Bowser and he swears in his state of cartoon beat up delerium, "I'll get you plumbers, you'll see! This is only the beginning!"

-Final act: big party at peaches castle, everyone is invited (even the audience), and there's cake and both Mario bros get a smooch on their nose. Luigi asks Peach if she's worried about Bowser coming back and she's says in a coy fashion, "I don't think we'll be seeing the koopa king for a while~"

-Bowser is in his royal giant bed, cartoon bandages, arm-splint, etc.. His son commands the koopalings to bring in a huuuuge present "from princess peach to bowser". It's a get well cake just for Bowser and his son, in frosting, "get well soon"- Bowser is moved by the act, but the big emotional weight is when Jr says, "Dad, one of these days.. I wana fight those Mario Brothers again!" Big laughs all around.

-Credits roll of stills with Mario Bros and Bowser interacting on more friendly terms: go karts, tennis, etc..

-Post Credit Scene: Mario bros, peach, everybody is having trouble sleeping, frogs croaking outside, pan into the night sky- Wart's face is forming in a cloud. Woooowww, sequel.

I don't know what the main plot should be but they should have the opening scene be another scene of Mario fighting Bowser to save Peach and then beats him only to have the director yell cut and it shows them all as just actors, Roger Rabbit style. I know it's a cliche by now but I like it when they do that actor behind-the scenes shit. Besides Miyamoto already said he sees the characters as a troupe of actors acting out a play.

-Mario should be confident and in charge of being confident: amazing physical feats, handsome, brave, the man of action, the hero everyone can count on.
-Luigi is in charge of being "humanly flawed": he's cowardly, clumsy, anxious, lacks confidence, but his confidence in his brother and willingness to do good keeps him motivated.
(Luigi can also jump higher, do that silly fluttering kick.)
-NEED to be constantly doing wacky Bros Moves, Item Moves, using Power Ups, and wearing Silly Costumes.

-MUST be voiced by John Goodman.
-Every scene with Bowser & the Mario Bros needs to display how large, intimidating, and monstrous Bowser is. He's the bad guy.
-Every scene with just Bowser should be personal, humanizing, and contextual: he does what he does for his kingdom, family, etc..
-Just before Bowser fights the Mario Bros he always says to himself, "Show Time".

Mario and Bowser are doing their usual end-of-game facedown when some third party zips along and whisks Mario away.
He gets taken to their castle and their princess pleads with him for help, promising to take him home after he's saved them.
Meanwhile, Bowser, Luigi, and Peach set off to rescue Mario because they have a golf game scheduled in a few days time

It switches between their rescue attempt, and Mario's quest. he has to fetch some McGuffins, break into an unspeakable evil's palace with them, and seal it away.

The obvious plot twist is that these people are evil and the princess is tricking Mario into unsealing an unspeakable evil that she intends to absorb, then use its power to conquer the other kingdoms

It should have the tone and level of fanservice that Lego Batman does. A running subplot is that Luigi keeps hallucinating his Mr. L alter ego is taunting him in mirrors and stuff. when the Princess absorbs the evil power thingy she uses a morality inversion spell to brainwash everyone into becoming evil and working for her, with a side effect of turning Bowser into a zen pacifist, but it just turns Luigi into Mr L. Because Luigi is much more flawed than his heroic brother, in turn his 'evil self' is more heroic than brainwashed Mario, enough to hate the idea of anyone else stealing HIS brother. He drags Zen Bowser to confront the princess once and for all, there's a very slapstick fightscene with them fighting all across the platformer-y moving fortress. When she gets sick of all the robots and Smash Bros. inspired Minus Zone fuckery she just blasts Mr L with an 'undo' spell, but that was his plan all along and he'd set things up so that Mario would be unintentionally hit by it too. Mario chucks a star and tears apart the entire fortress and does some big starfire wammajam that burns the ancient evil thing she absorbed out of the princess's body, undoing the rest of her magic and saving the day.
