Man, it's been forever since we had a thread. I miss them actually. Too bad EAH is pretty much over animation wise, and the MH took a nosedive. A shame really, Welcome to Monster High was surprisingly good, but Electrified was pretty bad. It makes me miss the old series, I really miss having a school filled with so many characters we've gotten to know over the series. The new movies have a sense of emptiness. The pacing doesn't help either.

Yeah that's one major thing about the reboot, the setting is so empty now, we have so few characters compared to MH before, the world is so much more empty now, MH school was full of so much more before the reboot, the catacombs, whole cities and a society of monsters.

If there's one big thing I wish EAH would do, is make Apple more sympathetic. The books do a better job of exploring her insecurities, background, and natural skills (being book smart), and explain why she wants to follow her destiny.
One of the things I love about EAH is that in any other franchise with a similar setting, Apple would be a straight up antagonist like Faybelle and Duchess, who gained respect out of fear, and would try to force Raven to be evil.
Apple's worse trait is being selfish and insensitive, and she has suffered for it by losing the thing she cared about most. But she's also genuinely caring, kind person who would always help her friends.
I just wish more people would acknowledge that, and that they'd do a better job showing that in the show. Based on the comments I've read, people think she's downright evil. But I'm glad she's not as bad as she could have been.
