I think that the source material is actually Swedish and not Finnish.

You're right there, that was the original language of publication. I read the russian translation (eons ago), so I never knew.

I just started going through the old animu. Its pretty goddamn comfy. Im on the second episode, and theya re fuckign around with a magic hat thats owned by some wizard riding around on a goddamn flying panther like a heavy metal album cover.

The Swedish and Finnish intro is sang by the same guy, I find that a bit sweet.
I love the Swedish dub of this show, they all speak with a Finnish accent and it was also dubbed at the time were Swedish dubs were golden and really good.
Nowadays every dub we have is made by the same 2-3 people on every single show.

I would recommend watching it in a Finnish or Swedish dub.

I thought it was kind of horrifying that they thought it would be funny to experiment and trick that antlion dude to jump into the hat.

All that water starts coming out of the hat and Moomin just keeps sitting on it assuming the Antlion would be totally fine submerged underwater.
