Best character in the movie
>>
>>92979457
This should be a Steve thread then
>>
>>92979457
Is she the new Faora?
>>
I want to stick my tongue through her face hole.
>>
>>92979582
Looks like it.

Faora was more femdom, Poison is just plain cute.
>>
I like how she and Lundendorf were used as minor villains, Luney as a fake out and her as test of WW's character. Also, that scene with a single gas mask mang, they were giddy as school girls.
>>
>>92979457
Her and Ludendorff laughing after killing the German war cabinet was such a hamfisted but great moment, apparently it was improvised too
>>
>>92979629
I like that she had a lisp, it always bothered me how Two-FAce could talk plainly without half his lips.
>>
>>92979702
I thought it was a tad silly at first but when she noted, "the mask won't help" I loved it. Surprised how much I enjoyed that movie.
>>
>>92979457
I can already hear the troglodytes in the theater laughing their asses off at her design and her lisp. Getting so tired of that shit, I'll just wait for the fucking blu ray

What do you think Dr. Poison's vapes are like?
>>
>waifuing Dr. Poison
... Nope. That's still weird. Like, she's probably replaced her tonsils with corrosive acid sacks.

One presumes the power of synergy will grant her more appearances now, so there's that.
>>
>>92980116
Implying fanfiction aren't planned were she has a love gas that she uses on Steve and then paralyses wonder woman who is forced to watch
>>
>>92979871
See, I get waifuing Doris. Not so much Maru.
>>
Here she is flooding her test tube...

>>
>>92980116
Her voice is a little wheezy I noticed. Probably too much toxic smoke inhalation.
>>
>>92979799
Do you go to a theater for /tv/ only or something? Nobody's gonna laugh at that.
>>
>>92979457
So do we know what happened to her? The ending was so goddamn awful I only payed half attention
>>
>>92979714
Yeah that was hilarious.
>>92981321
Fukken saved
>>
>>92980116
Injustice 3 here we come
>>
>>92981922
Escaped and developed zyklon b. It was in the end credits scene.
>>
>>92979799
I pity whatever shithole you clearly live in.
>>
I was disappointed with how underutilized she was. I was hoping she'd contribute to the final fight in some way, like maybe she creates a poison so potent it can even harm gods.
>>
>>92979457
She looked so cute when she thought Steve was hitting on her. That someone finally saw past her face and saw how beautiful her mind was. It broke my heart when she thought he was checking out Diana instead
>>
>>92982672
that was when she became best girl

I don't think she's been in anything else, no. Again, Wonder Rogues suffer from that vicious cycle of not being well known, thus nobody uses them.

How long till the comics copy this showing once again they have very little original thoughts?
>>
>>93001638
Considering the current version of Dr. Poison is a generic gun toting mercenary with an equally generic goon squad fighting a superhero whose iconic maneuver is blocking bullets (when she's not depicted as being outright immune to them), copying the movie version would be a good move. It's not like Dr. Poison has ever been a big deal, even within WW comics.
>>
>>93002251
Yeah, overall I like Rucka round 2, but that's dumb. Like really, Colonel? You're comin' at her with just bullets? How do you fuck up that hard? Even Mayfly at least had superspeed, and she was smart enough to take Wally out first.

You might notice most Wonder Rogues don't use guns that much, because blocking bullets is one of her things. Dr. Poison has a gimmick that is actually a threat to the hero. That is basic design 101.
>>
>>92996124
I swear the moment Steve started talking about the fire and that look in her eyes. I thought she was just going to push Steve down and just start doing him in front of everyone.
>>
>>93002576
It's not even heavy firepower, just assault rifles. If you're going to use guns against WW, bring out the autocannons and recoilless rifles. It also didn't help that Rucka had her actually shoot WW twice then WW completely ignored what (even in Hollywood) would be life-threatening if not outright fatal wounds without them even slowing her down.
>>
>>93002576
the problem is that he can only write one kind of tough lady
>>
>>93002950
Because she's a Dr. Poison, you'd think she'd at least spam gas grenades, but nope. It'd be fine if Dr. Poison was a mercenary, but she still needs to retain her primary gimmick, that being POISON.

I love ya Greg, but that's bad writing.

Speaking of pic related, should Dr. Psycho be just full on MRA, or should he be a more subtle fedora tipper?

Hell, should he literally wear a fedora, or is that a bit much?
>>
>>93005709
He should be charismatic but a casual sexist who is obsessed with being in control.

Basically, somebody mail Patty Jenkins those issues featuring him in Manhunter and she should get the idea.

Because they wanted to bomb England at their soil with a devastating and more effective gas attack. Few roided up soldiers wouldn't have the same effect because they were simply super strong physically, not impervious to injury.

they're pretty low on conventional weapons (as stated in the factory scene) so even if there was enough steroid gas for everyone, they can't go all 'the dark knight rises' and have the roided soldiers pick a fist fight in no man's land.

She was just doing her duties serving her country. American chemists and biologists did similar things but with willing American volunteers. I think I might have wrote it wrong. I am making a point that American scientists were researching poisonous gas during the Cold War and they didn't think they were evil. And further, after America signed a treaty with the Soviets to stop all research, America kept going because they assumed the Soviets did the same. Only later did Amercia realised that the Soviets DID stop developing BC weapons and that Americans are the only ones breaking the treaty. All because Americans really think "we are the good guys".

That one got me. I can just imagine her trying not go laugh and finally giving in. And? She is just proud that her invention works as intended. You rather that her years of work ended up NOT killing people?
What did you think the American scientists researching BC weapons during the Cold War were trying to do day in and day out?

Had her gas actually won the war we would have been spared WW2. And don't forget that the other side has their own gas weapon program, as much as the Brits like to hide that fact.

That was probably where they got the idea for the mask look, in the movie. I bet in the concept art we'll see her wearing a full mask. It'd make for a neat twist for the audience to see "hey, she doesn't look that bad underneath", but I can see why it'd be difficult for the actress.

Excuse me, but villains don't have to be criminally insane. You are acting like Batman doesn't have an Asylum filled with mad women. Are you saying crazy women are rare in DC?
The whole point of Doctor Poison is that one can be a villain without insanity. There are rational reasons to do evil. Your desire to turn her into a complete loon would require her to be incapable of being gainfully employed, which entirely misses the point here. If anything I question your desire to make Doctor Poison a shallow themed-villain like how Penguin used to throw umbrella everywhere.

>>
Thread theme song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHZKPYQnsmc
>>
>>93035856
I would say the party scene shows the opposite of her craving affection. She doesn't respond to Steve's compliments or claiming to be a fan, she only starts paying attention to him when he goes on about fire and evil and destruction. As soon as she realizes that he is easily distracted by women, she dismisses him. She didn't care about the vanity, and didn't have time for someone who did care about that.
>>
>>93035977
Basically this. She's just a shallow bad guy, they avoided characterizing and humanizing her whenever they could. They even blamed her drive to work on Ares, we have no idea who she is or what she's like, there's no character there.
>>

No they didn't. Were you not paying any attention at all during the Ares scene?

>>93035977
Steve constantly mixes talking about destruction, personal authority and advancement, and complimenting her; she dismisses him when he focuses on Diana because she thinks he's just using her to further his career.
>>
>>93036056

>>93036082

Wrong.

British spooky ares was best.

Ares who takes the form of "war" whatever that means at the time is best.
>>
>>93036110
>Doesn't explain why she completely didn't react at all to personal compliments.

she is socially autistic and thought he was buttering her up for his own needs (which he was). he mometarily tricked her with the entropy talk but then the ruse failed when Wondy walked in

most of the meaning is conveyed through her body language
>>
>>93036118
I loved his ghostly form when he meets Diana and Diana realizes who he is.
>>
>>93036180
Making him a reflection in the windows was a great choice.
>>
>>93036104
>Were you not paying any attention at all during the Ares scene
We see her give up twice, the general and Ares each make her keep going.
>>
>>93036160
She doesn't move her body hardly at all, just slightly turns towards him. And you're right, she assumed he was buttering her up. It wasn't a reaction to the affection, it was an empty and emotionless, and if you ask me characterless, reaction.
>>
>>93036276
> character didn't move xxx degrees so WRONG
you have some mighty hardcore autism about this
>>
>>93036321
You're trying to make me seem like I'm raving about one thing. I haven't told anybody that they're wrong yet, just asked why you think the way you do. Your extreme reaction is honestly much more autistic. I thought her body language was just polite conversation, she was at a formal event so of course she turned towards him. She didn't really react besides that, that's all I'm really saying.
>>
>>93036243
The general encourages her, but her table is littered with notes and formulas indicating that she's been working non-stop long before he arrived. Her re-examining one of the crumpled notes is retroactively implied to be Ares, which falls in line with what he says at the end of the film; that he doesn't force people to do anything, he just points them in the right direction.
>>
>>93036110
They did provide one. You didn't like it
>>
>>93034996
>During her climax she suddenly mashes her face into the pillow to cover her squeak
>>
>>92979702
Honestly I loved the duo, they were a lot of fun. That scene especially, I loved how they were just so damn unabashedly evil about it.
>>
>>93036363
That's a whole other can of worms, what Ares was saying about being the god of truth. He's clearly lying, after he's defeated the Nazis all around them stop fighting. The effect of freeing people from corruption that Diana expected turned out to be real. I would have loved the new angle on Ares, but it seemed it was just him trying to excuse his actions.

As for the crumpled notes, I'd say that doesn't really indicate much. Of course she at least tried to reclaim her work, she has a job to do. The point is she does eventually give up, and have to be encouraged by the general and by Ares. I think her drive to work isn't particularly strong, and not a main character trait.
>>
>>93036424
>The effect of freeing people from corruption that Diana expected turned out to be real

nope, it was both sides realizing they were lucky to be alive and there was nothing more worth fighting for
>>
>>93025370
That's exactly what she did.

And she found it when she noticed he stopped paying attention to her as soon as the "beautiful woman in the blue dress" appeared.
>>
>>93036459
If that's true that's honestly incredibly disappointing, for a lot of reasons. The idea that the entire movie resolution comes down to a Disney afternoon style "friendship is worth more than this" is just gross. And also, if Ares truly is the god of truth, he must be right about humanity. That changes the entire movie, Diana and every hero is just the bad guy prolonging an infection on creation.

"God of Truth" is him being metaphorical about himself and his actions. And it's not a "Disney afternoon style 'friendship is worth more than this,'" most of the base got blown up, everything is on fire, and the chick directly responsible for all of it, who just kicked the ass of like 30 guys at once and overhead pressed a tank, exploded a hole in the ground the size of a building. You're some teenage kid on starvation rations, are you really going to go keep fighting?

And in reference to your earlier post, they're not Nazis and she's expressly tells Ludendorff that she needs more time and resources to figure out the correct formula.

The fire stopped as soon as Ares died, somehow, but cinematic decisions can be excused when talking about story. I'm not sure these soldiers were "starving teenagers" though, I think they were all trained capable soldiers who were committed enough to the war to load these weapons up. To me, every sign points to Ares directly corrupting these people, as he said he didn't, and them being freed when he died.

Don't even need to do that. DC has more powerful antagonists than Marvel as far as Earthlings go, so she can easily achieve long life through her own research. If you want her to come back as a threat then you really need her to be a genuine genius. If she is just some ordinary chemist then she can't be a supervillain.
