I tweaked the GG script from last week a bit based on the discussion of what Audrey calls Sarah when they're out of costume.

Work on the colors. The white looks out of place and black and grey doesn't really work. Maybe make the pant's and coat both shiny black leather, or make the pants into standard blue jeans.

Alternatively, remove the flaps from the boots and make the pants green or camo cargo pants.

We don't think of those story elements as being gritty, but they would be considered as such to the standard it's forced to comply with.

Working on a couple scripts at the moment. While I definitely have an idea for a much grander project, I'm going to work on a four issue mini just to get some experience. The backdrop is an alien invasion in the 1970s and a farm in the middle of nowhere. It's definitely not going to be what people expect.

Hey guys! Back from work. Well this is it. I'm pretty much done story wise for this issue. Aside from an ending box, maybe, I just need to space the beginning text more. But other than that, RR issue 1 is done. Line 781 is where the new stuff is.

Might as well drop a prompt to keep things going: We are in the works of a space adventure of Rocket Boy. While his origins are set, we still haven't developed his side characters. Mainly the UFB is talked about, but not much talk on what he can bring to the table.

Bursting down doors to alien tombs, maybe UFB stomps through a moon sand castle base, Rocket Boy gets trapped in an alien jail cell and UFB pulls the door off its hinges. I think we could easily get creative with UFBovine. Obviously he couldn't be completely defined as RBs muscle. Eventually he would have to evolve into a dirty that an alien race comes to worship and RB will have to let him live out his cow life as an alien god. This of course will get the feels.

Which of the demon king factions is most likely to hire out muscle?

I don't know what the Fire Witch's covenant does. I'd imagine they're in league with the Dark Hearts.

The domain of the Moribund Marquess is pretty much a massive free for all/capture the flag/king of the hill type deal on a much bloodier scale.

I don't know what the Wavering Mason does.

The Yellow Jester's court seems to be all about information brokering.

The Glutton Lord's cult seems to be self-contained.

The Rune Keeper's Cryptic Skein is pretty much a big school or something like that.

The Immaculate Structure under the control of the Devout Symphony seems to be something that resembles lawmen.

The Lonely King is a wild card.

I don't know what the Somber Maestro does.

The Supreme Duke of Moaning I assume has the entertainment industry firmly under his control.

The Blissful Lady controls the drug trade.

And The Crimson King in present time is a meat puppet of the Yellow Jester, so no telling what he did when still alive.

So say someone needs a demon for a job and summons one. What are they going to get? Do any of the demon kings have a monopoly on the summoning market? Would it just be an independent who still does things old school?

I've been working on a script for the GG idea from a couple weeks ago where Audrey saves Billy from a school bully. It's not done yet, but here's what I've got so far:

The colours aren't too bad in this one, though red/black is pretty traditional villain and the highlights on the shoes stand out considerably. Personally I'd go with a white logo on this colour scheme, since white stands out really well on red and it would draw the eye to the logo.

The pants are way too bright in this one. From the thumbnail, your eyes jump straight there due to the light/dark contrast.Without that, though, there's no significant eye-drawing point in the colours. If you want to see what I mean. flip it grayscale if you can. The colour choices themselves are easier on the eyes, though, unlike the last one.

Do some solo pieces to get comfortable with the new looks, then build up from there.

Though what do I know? I've only ever been able to draw cruddy MS paint stuff.

If you actually want to talk to someone who has done comics before, you could always get in touch with the Pulp crew. Part of how that came about was to give the local talent someone to talk to who had done comics before.

Though with my absolute lack of experience and just general observations of how projects usually go around here, don't get too hung up on page numbers per chapter, do however many you feel you need for the scene you're working on.

With something like this, it feels more like beats than chapters, so they don't need to conform to a standard number each issue.

I've just remembered to read the latest issue of Pulp/Premier/whatever they're calling it now.

Some good stuff in it, though some of the comics I can't follow at all.
I guess the vibe those stories are going for is more of the feeling than the narrative.

Then there's the on going ones. Looks like Oceans in the Sky's plot is finally surfacing.
Then there's part 2 of Lovely Ladybug issue #5 in black and white. That's action packed.

I like the Vanilla Ice Cream story. That's pretty relatable.

Yeah, I guess it correlates (some vague characteristics) somewhat to Le Rouge et le Noire by Stendhal.

It's a good thing Theta has some dark blue in her costume to keep the colors from being too much like Wells'.

When she first interrupts one of their fights, maybe that's why they assume she's a fan.

But I had another idea for later.
After the restaurant scene where Theta learns Archenemy's true identity, the days after that JD and Wells notice their performances are no longer being crashed by her. They're happy about this, but Theta is actually watching from a far, studying them, then tailing them after the fact to confirm if it's true that they're really in league with each other.
Once she's confirmed it, that's when she starts going deeper off into the deep end than she already was.

Wells knows his condition is getting worse, so after one of their no longer interrupted performances he should try to end it there by saying that's the last one or say something that might push JD away to make sure he won't be near when the shards go critical. This is something I'm still not sure how to handle, but there's the luxury of time since it's still far enough down the line to think more on as we get to it.

Theta makes her move on Wells after she witnesses their "falling out" since she figures that'd be the best time to eliminate Wells.
Wells gets serious in fighting her since she lets on that she'll go after JD next.

Had an idea for a strip for Rocket Boy. An alien queen has her best bounty hunters capture Rocket Boy. He is brought before the queen and she adopts him as her new son. From an intergalactic stand point, technically Rocket Boy would be a prince now. The next few strips would be UFBovine and DiAN rescuing RB from the queens clutches.

Not only does it miss the point, but there's nothing in the design that makes a new one. It's just a mishmash of Violet Parr and Silk Spectre II, over-designed detail for its own sake.

If you were gonna do modern you should've pulled from more modern aesthetics; a cowl instead of a domino mask, or 90s it up with tacticool belts and pouches, or do the whole "practicool" thing that's big right now where they're essentially wearing leather jackets and yoga pants. You could've looked at how the various Robin costumes have evolved over the years to transition from Dick's original shorts, pixie boots, and Damien's caplet to the full pants, laced boots, and hooded mantle.

Even /aco/ told you this was bad. And that's an accomplishment in of itself; those guys have no taste at all.

Capes don't work, and they always get caught on stuff. There were four different hairstyle concepts for Golden Girl that I saw and I just like the longhair better. The program that I was using didn't gave me much options and other features were limited. I've been looking at other designs for Golden Girl for ideas.

This is mainly a rough idea that I've thought off briefly while I was thinking on how to improve it along the way

Artist here, Kamen Rider Wizards and Nomads weren't in the discussion though.

It's really just an iconic look that denotes a uniform red and black without overdesigning much.
Mixed in with the character however you may also see some vague correlation with Stendhal's Le Rouge et le Noir.

There is also some very subtle fictionalized nazi inspirations. (Mostly 2014 Wolfenstein)

The round eyes were taken from war gas masks to complete his mysterious and chilling stature (also the anons that suggested it really hit it out of the ball park on that decision)

And with many villains, capes are overused as a dramatic device so we utilized a more "concise" approach with the lower flaps and the shorter shoulder cape to at least capture the same tool but in a different approach.

With his utilization of various tech and drones of robots (along with his palette) you can also say that he was inspired by Jack Spicer from the Xiaolin Showdown TV series.

Well, it wouldn't be a disco suit per se; the concept is that she becomes Golden Guardian around the transition to the Bronze Age in 1970, so her Bullion phase would be sometime in the 60s. Soi t would be closer to whatever the 60s eqiuvalent of a disco suit was.
