I think the initial reaction was that Cio was a misandrist? Or that she's at least wary against them. Because she was abused by men (Preem Nand and, possibly, Oscar?). And it didn't help that when she was trying to guide Allison along, one of her suggestions was to "definitely" get her a "new love interest", and "maybe a girl".

At any rate, this touchiness against men hasn't been brought up again since then.

It's interesting how both tumblr and 4chan go for Allison/Cio fanfic/fanart for titillation, but for different arcs.

I'm fairly sure bug eyed cio was her glasses stylised as her expression.

Personally don't mind the style change for Cio, everything was a bit rougher in the first book, and she still has the occasional fang flaring and demonic eyes to make her stand out among the sea of same faced "waifus"

Oh fuck, I just thought of something awful: Himself is Dagoth Ur.

Since he is Himself, it's literally impossible for Himself to see the himself as a lesser part of the Godhead/YISUN, which is what happens when you gaze at the universe's edge and see I and achieve CHIM/Royalty.

Since his egoism is so fundamental, the process of CHIM/Royalty is reversed for him. Instead of seeing himself as fundamentally part of the universe, he sees the universe as fundamentally part of him. He gazes at the wheel's edge, but sees ∞ instead of I.

This is why Himself can so easily grasp the wheel and prevent its turning, stopping time: to his perception, there is literally no difference between himself and the universe.

Thats the problem though. Himself came from nothing, there was no conscious before Himself named himself. So, how do you convince something like that, that it doesn't exist? Cogito ergo sum in full force here, his very thoughts made him exist, and he is likely at a degree of sentience that he understands the workings of the universe. It's like trying to tell someone in a play that they are an actor, not their character, they already know what goes on behind the curtains, so you aren't telling them something they already don't know.

I think the major issue comes down to perspective. The only ones who could reasonably convince Himself he doesn't exist are those who have seen the truth of the universe, and by that point, those people would know that nothing exists, and everything exists, so it becomes a moot point, since convincing Himself he doesn't exist would mean convincing yourself you don't exist, because everything is YISUN, and YISUN is everything, and nothing at the same time, so it becomes an loop of contradicting meta logic, and would likely result in Himself just asking you to sit down, have a cup of tea and calm down.

One thing to remember about how fights work.

Just because you are stronger than someone doesn't mean you fight them.

Allison proved her point. If the gathered devils could overcome her becomes immaterial afer that. At some point you have to realize the winning side won't come out unscathed, and even Devils have a sense of self preservation. A fight isn't something you pick just because you're the stronger party. Violence is something that has to be considered carefully, as the strong can still be crippled by the weak. In many ways, lack of experience can make the weaker more dangerous. Unpredictable. The lack of experience also makes the weak foolish as they think they have nothing to lose, but anyone living has that one last thing they didn't realize they could still miss if it were gone.
