I think it's got a cool enviroment and a painless fun watch, it being traditionally animated and having some relatively unique fantasy concepts helps. Also points for not being Canadian, Flash, or having fart jokes or much other toilet humor.
It's not particularly funny, though. And I think lots of TV-Y7 shows are but this doesn't go for much clever verbal humor. I've chuckled maybe twice through 8 episodes. It's more just a very cartoony adventure/fanatsy show

I saw someone compare it with Uncle Grandpa, and that's what's pulling me in. A show for "waifus" is a dime a dozen, but a show that's wacky just to be wacky I'll at least give a try.

The end theme is the only good thing about this damn show so far. If only it was recorded analog, and then remixed digitally, it would sound more warm and authentic.

The wackyness falls flat a lot for me. Many times does the solutions feel forced, like the writers couldn't think of a way to end the episode otherwise. The show would benefit from some more cleverness. It may be compared to Uncle Grandpa, but it's way too subdued for me to see it; it's boring.

Also, i know this is nitpicky, but i feel like Marsha should sound like Patty Mayonnaise.

So I've discovered the show loses a lot of its' fun after characters stop being introduced every episode and start being recurring.. I kind of blame Zeus Cervas, no matter what show he's on his episodes are never funny. And it really doesn't help that Billy becomes a lot more central and Zeke and Marsha kind of disappear. Their dynamic is much more enjoyable than Billy as a solo protagonist, and I can't imagine why they decided to go this way when they easily could have been integrated in each episode's plot?
This show has some nice things about it but on episode 10 its initial charm is already fading. I have a feeling that the next (most likely final) 3 episodes will be about all I would've watched up to anyway even if the show did get renewed..
Now when is Milo Murphy coming back? That show's gotten hillarious
And Country Club should be good too with so much Harvey Beaks and Clarence staff

I can kinda get where they were going with Milo. Murphy's law states that whatever can go wrong, will, so it makes sense that someone who;s lived that would be uber prepared for everything.

This show just premiered and Disney has it placed 30th (!!) within the Watch DXD app and waited until the day it came out to make a barebones webpage for it, and they're going to play the entire season at 7 in the morning over 2 weeks.
They're dumping it and moving on, renewal really doesn't seem possible.

I can understand not being a fan of Billy's design, but Marsha's absolutely adorable and Zeke just has the coolest, old-school cartoon look.

But I'll admit that the rest of the characters except for Judy have pretty uninspired designs.

Writing's acceptable. The core group has a good dynamic and Zeke and Marsha are easily likable, and thus far it's avoided being overly cliche or having too much toilet humor or those other such common flaws. The environment is cool and unique and the first 6 or so episodes introduce a new character or location in nearly every segment so it constantly feels fresh and it has a cool world-building type feel, got me sucked in for a minute. It's just cool to have a show centering on fish-out-of-water protagonists in a limitless fantasy world, there's no grounding whatsoever so it's good escapism. Also every character (except the polarizing Billy) is voiced exceptionally and music is quite good, occasionally great.
Main con is it's that it's just not that funny though. It really just doesn't seem to aim for many actual jokes, it's more just trying to be fun through general lighthearted wackiness and surreal occurrences. There's a few things worth a chuckle but I probably laugh more at one good episode of Clarence than I did through the whole season.

It is nice that being a girl has practically no bearing on the way Marsha is treated or the way she interacts with the other characters - her personality and voice are girly but she's still just "one of the guys" in a sense, in a lot of shows she'd be the smartest one or always have the moral high-ground just by benefit of being female. This show's approach is actually more progressive in a way and it doesn't even really have a voice of reason character, and it's all the better for it.

I get the vibe that The Date was actually the original pilot (or perhaps a slight reworked version of it): The only boarder credited was Springer himself, while the only writer credited other than him was Morrow (not even Merriwether, who's involved with all the other episodes was involved with it). plus there's Catch Me if You Can being played near the end

I wonder if the fact that a majority of episodes have Springer and Morrow as boarders on top of the board teams: one of the few that doesn't (Andy Gonsalves & Chong Suk Lee's Crab Hands) looked kinda off compared to most episodes
then again the other 3 episodes that didn't have Springer and Morrow as boarders (Zeus Cervas & Kenny Pittenger's Hey Judy, and Luke Brookshier & Charlotte Jackson's Mushroom Prince and Beastie Billy) were pretty on model when not doing deliberate special poses
